I think most will agree with me that this is a lot of camer for the price. I advice to get more memory and rechargable batteries, 7dayshop.com seem to be the cheepest.

Yes, forgot to mention that the movie capture function is very good too. not as good as a camcorder (obviously) but very handy feature.

I'm slowly progressing up to a SLR and this is a good learning tool. Lots of settings to play with.

The S5600 is xD card only (its "big bruv" the S9500 is xD or CompactFlash).

Still a VERY good deal though - I bought mine during one of the £50 off promos at Currys a few months back, cost £150 and I'd certainly pay that again. An extra £35+ off is great and should pay for the extra card and batteries.

ps the S5600 and S9500 have been replaced, but the new ones are not significantly better (not over £150 better anyway).

I bought mine from currys too, after discounts I think I payed £145. Also wanted to point out that the S5600 is smaler than the s9500, making it easier to carry around.

    XD Picture Card - 1GB - Olympus - Type H - £17.99 - 7dayshop.com (works perfect in the S5600)
    7dayshop Rechargeable Ni-Mh Battery - AA Size (2600mAh) - £3.79 - 7dayshop.com (good quality)

Definitely £112.45 when I posted this morning (always check...) - perhaps it was selling too quickly (not surprised at that) - still a good deal at £150 though.

Anyway, if you don't need a camera NOW, just hang on, will be other/same bargains along before too long.
  • I managed to get one at £112 this morning, definitely a bargain at that price :)

Yes, it seems that the price has now gone up to £149. It can be had for that price @ other places so its not such a grabit anymore :-(

    Still a decent price tho.
