Hello
I am another victim of Parking eye and have received 2 notice from them for 2 different dates. This car park opposite farmhouse is free for 2 hours and I had parked for 2 hr and 16 mins and another day parked for 2.40 mins (this was on saturday evening and dark left the car park at 7.30 pm).
Now I am very tensed as the letter says payment made within 14 days will be charged £60, a week later £90 and thereafter £120.
PLEASE HELP!!!
Don't worry, the landowners damages are zero, the most they can sue you for is zero. Having a sliding scale of payment just shows that it's not a true estimate of loss and is in fact a contract penalty which is unlawful.
Ignore Parking Eye and also ignore that car-park and retailers around it0 -
I got the same ticket yesterday. As advised I will ignore them. However as im a member of the Fitness First gym nextdoor to farmfoods im a regular at that car park. If I were to return to the car park without paying does Parking Eye have any grounds to tow-away or clamp my car?
P.s how on earth do they know whether someone has gone over their ticket time, or has bought one or not. As they only use the one camera at the entrance. And ive never seen a parking attendant there either.
Thanks for any advice. please help.0 -

As of today it is illegal to clamp in respect of alleged debts.

Wow, super speedy response guys. Thank you.
Just to clarify should i do anything else in the meantime, other than ignoring the letters?
Also as , my ticket was issued before the change in law will they have the right to pursue my father, who is the registered keeper of the car, but i was the driver?
thanks again. really appreciate the advice0 -

They will write to your father, but the new law isn't retrospective so they can't hold him liable.
If you don't want them to write to your father, write to them yourself first, and tell them that you deny any debt. That should suffice to get the ignorable letters coming to you instead of your father. You don't need to tell them that you were the driver (keep 'em guessing!)
Then, ignore everything.Je suis Charlie.0
