  • I am going to have to replace my Primera, as its falling to bits, and it going to need loads spending on it for its MOT.
I am going through redundancy, and the payout will be going on another 'new to me' car.
I am going to have to commute for a new job,so reliablility and comfort will be the biggest concern to me, yes economy is important, but i am not going to by a small 'economical' car if its not a comfortable place to be sat in.

Another pre-renault Primera is a good bet - they're bloody indestructible!

What's wrong with it? I honestly thought the older Primeras were solid solid cars. I know the newer ones aren't....
  • Off the top of my head .....
    rear springs (common fault)
handbrake no worky (rear calipers need rebuilding, again common fault)
    various electrical issues
clutch cable needs sorting (common fault)

Rear calipers are a common Nissan fault as a whole - my N16 Almera suffered terribly with them.

Back on topic: If you have forked out a lot for the high priced tax disc for a larger type of car, the you might as well get some value for it by driving around a bit more rather than less.

Actually I saw one of those the other day, in red.... With silver shelby stripes down it, being driven rather enthusiastically ;)
I'd done my usual "omg it's a dawler" as soon as I saw it, but got quite a surprise.
