Probably the same as a load of east Europeans did near me...find a wooded area and set up home, its basic but amazing what you can do with a little hard graft and a bit of thinking outside the box.
The difference being he is not East European. He's a British Citizens who has paid taxes since the day he left school. As has his father, and grandfather before him.
Taxes that are paid into a social security system that is SUPPOSE to be there for people who need it should the situation arise.0 -
Hi James
I am lead to believe the homeless person is either at or on his way to the OP's home.
This his new status thanks to the good people at the DWP.
This should be there new slogan ..
Claim JSA as a decent hardworking, tax paying citizen of the uk - Leave as a homeless vagrant.
Our Sanctions Promise!!0 -
As this is now his status do inform the local authority that you have someone living at your address so as to avoid overpayment of the 25% reduction of council tax and possible non dependent deductions for your rent.
Do you claim benefits, it may be a good idea to inform DWP that someone is living with you.Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0 -

One of the things that flabbergasts me about this is that he was paying two thirds of his jsa on rent! Might have made sense if the op wanted to help that she could have been looking into this before it all got such a mess.0
