hi summerstreets (it is such a lovely name)
you might like to look at a book called To Buy or Not To Buy, by April Lane Benson. Someone on the clothes challenge thread recommended it a while ago - sorry can't remember exactly who. It's written by a clinical psychologist who has treated people with shopping addiction and I think it's fab. She talks about the reasons people overshop and how to find ways of doing other activities. It might give you some ideas or be a starting point for you to find more help. I got it through the local library, or it's on Amazon.
I hope you're feeling better and also wanted to say stick around here - it's a fab and amazingly supportive place.

Don't do it - you can get through this. Focus short term say a few days ahead, thinkin too far into the future does your head in an seems like a lifetime. Take things a few steps at a time so your life is manageable, maybe keep a diary an say TODAY I didn,t spend on credit cards.
Don't beat yourself up - allow yourself to make some mistakes.
I owe £27,500 an I'm a single parent aged 54. I am sure you can work out where this leaves me.
I have felt like this too - try 'snowballing' your debts, you may find they can be paid off earlier (enter snowball into search section).
Look at other ways of earning money on this website to up your income. You can still enjoy yourself without spending shedloads of money but you might have to be a bit creative - maybe this could be fun (dare I say it).
Seriously this feels like a sentence but you can choose to see it in a different way - maybe as more of a challenge. if you don't feel like a challenge think of some treats you could incorporate for achieving daily goals which can be small ones because even small achievements chip away at the debt.
That's enough talking for now and you have all my best wishes - plus in the middle of the night I tend to think:eek:!!!'Bird bird, bird is the word'Long Haul Supporter's Thread no.269The RamonesPresent debt £224365.56Debt free June 20160 -
