struggling...seriously considering suicide

...over my debts...cant stop spending on the cards...never buy anything worthwhile, just try to cheer myself up...paying £100 a week in charges etc.

C.C.C.S. has been good but only want me to make payment offers...reckon if I did this it would take 33 years to clear debts if no interest added...my partner has no idea about all this , he'll go ballistic when he finds out....

PLease take a deep breath, put the kettle on, and have a cup of tea. Life is precious. Far more important than material things.

Please don't do anything drastic, there are so many people on here who are in the same boat, they will be able to help I'm sure.
I have read many threads on here that start like yours where someone can't see a way out of their debts but there ALWAYS is a way out. It will take time and will probably not be easy but nothing is ever that bad that you need to consider ending it all, especially over money.
Please hang on and read what people have to say, you will be overwhelmed by the kindness and non-judgemental advice that you will be offered.
    Love to you,

Money is only money..Not worth giving up your life or love.

I am sure your partner will understand and if they don't then they are not the right one for you anyway.

Have you looked into bankruptcy ? It might clear the weight off your mind and allow you to move forward

Take notice of the replies you have had. It's ONLY money..not a matter of life and death and although may see depression and terrible now it wont with time.

Your other half...well if he goes ballistic..that happens and what's the worst that can happen.

NO one will judge you on here, but they will ask that you read and listen to what they reply and take one step at a time.

    Best Wishes

Just wanted to add my support, really sorry you are going through such a tough time. Please think about calling someone (a friend, samaritans etc.) to talk about your feelings in more detail, it can be really helpful to get things off your chest.

It's great that you have started taking steps to sort all this out and spoken to CCCS, try not to feel disheartened that it might take a while to sort out.The first steps are always the hardest!

It might not seem like it now, but being in debt is NOT literally the end of the world and CAN be sorted out!

As lazy_daisy said, it will take time - there is unlikely to be an instant solution to the problem - but there WILL be a solution.

Individuals on this site have paid off over £100,000 of debt. It has not been quick, and has taken ingenuity, discipline and imagination, but it CAN be done.

We can try to help if you give us more details. Post an SOA (Statement of Affairs, a form to let us see your position and see where you can make cuts http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html) and people can comment and see what can be done to help.

As for your partner, he might go 'ballistic' when he sees the state of your finances, but I bet he would sooner that than be heartbroken if he had to bury you.

Well done on having the guts to post, but don't do anything drastic.

We can help if you let us. :kisses3:

I am so sorry you are feeling so low. Never forget it is only money and they can't have what you haven't got.
Please contact someone about your suicidal feelings , the samaritans firstly.
Your situation can be resolved with time , good luck x

  • Please don't think like that. As you can see from my signature I was and still am in a lot of debt but slowly but surely I have been reducing it.

Chin up, you had your LBM, it can only go upwards from here ;)

You will have options - CCCS and Payplan, CAB etc can help. CCCS can talk to you about why they recommend token payments and what other options you have. Can you cut up the cards to stop you increasing them?

Nothing is worth suicide - your partner would rather have you alive than dead, as would so many other people who know you.

    Good luck
