  • Hi everyone, hows everyones planning going??

Im well on my way now to booking most things -

    Deposits paid:-

    Venue, dress, photographer

Things already paid for in full

bridesmaid dresses (i have 7 so i managed to get them in the jan sales for £22 each!!)

    Things to do this week

weve seen the cars we want so we are going to have another look and pay our deposit
Mens suits - we have had a quote but OH is going for an appointment on thurs and to pay the deposit.

what i have been doing is focusing on one thing every month and paying a deposit every month, because its still over a year away it spreads the cost out a bit more.

Hows everyone else getting on?? Any bargains found??

    Deposits paid:-

    Venue, photographer, Cars

Things already paid for in full:-

Wedding planner/decorations - my boss does this as a second job and has offered to do it for free
Wedding stationary - another friend has offered to do it all for free as our present
Flowers by a friend so will be heavily discounted, pretty much cost on flowers and we'll give her some for doing it.

We're doing our own wedding photobooth to save on money, with some super software and a laptop

Have so many ideas but not enough time yet to process them lol!

  • We booked our band this week! Was pleased to learn that they don't need a deposit, just paying on the day lol. I'm going dress shopping in a couple of weeks so getting very excited about that. Plus, we've booked a holiday to the place we're getting married a year before the date, so should be able to sort some stuff with the registrar...plus get an idea of potential weather conditions lol. Can't wait!

Started making a prototype for our table centrepiece, so I can perfect the design before making the 9 or so I need.

Wish I could start looking for our honeymoon but its too far ahead to do flights for our location :(

  • We are getting married on May 10th 2013 - registry office and reception venue booked.

Colour scheme - scarlet and silver or ivory depending on my dress

Catering next - having lunch with a very talented friend to sort out high tea for day guests, pie and pea supper to sort for the evening with the venue

After that, a days dress shopping, once I finally get my engagement ring.

    Hi!
I'm meeting with the vicar on Saturday to book the Church for our May 2013 wedding (they had the 18th free when I last spoke to him, but we have to wait until Saturday to confirm it).

Other than that, we've done nothing! So you're ahead of me deniseb90!!

I've given my fiance the task of picking the colour theme - I've had suggestions of pretty much every colour so far... we need to make a decision soon so we can start designing the stationery.

We've writen a rough guest list and we didn't realise we knew so many people!! We're going to have to be quite brutal to cut it down. We wanted to get a rough idea of numbers before looking at venues, as we didnt want to find somewhere and love it and then find they couldn't hold the numbers we want.

After the church is booked, I plan to become a crazed woman to find a venue.

I've ordered my dress today - a lot earlier than planned but it's in the sale so i guess it won't be about when i was planning on buying it in the autumn

We got a mock up of all of our stationary yesterday with two different designs on them, so we need to make a decision which we like and have them put into production! Everything is starting to look how we want :)

    Hi all,

We've provisionally booked for the 25th May 2013! Just waiting for the contract to arrive so we can pay the deposit. Marquee is also provisionally booked but we need a site visit before he accepts a deposit. We are looking into quotes for caterers at the moment.

Photographer and band are next on my list after all the above is sorted!! :)
