The point was that very many basic phones have these features.
Nokia 5230 is available for £65ish (or even for £40ish sometimes). Yes, it is not android, the screen is smaller and lower quality, but it does the job:
phone calls
internet 3g
photos
videos
satnav (working even without internet connection)
apps (don't know what kind of apps and how many)
...
...
Do you really want to pay £450+ extra for a device that is a mobile phone in the first place?
There are plenty of apps, google "nokia 5230 apps" and there are 200 free on the first link.
You may as well ask how many apps there are for a PC, as many as people are prepared to write!
Best one I found was a 'piano', which is possible as it is a touch screen.
I wanted a 'piano' for my PC but they are not very good because you have to use the keyboard. I can't really think of any app I would find useful which I have not got, apart from a bottle opener!!0 -
Its all a matter of priority surly? I don't drive, For me personally driving is a rip off, I don't go on holidays, never seen the point, I do own an iPhone on contract though.0

Totally agree!
I own a Nokia 3720c (basic phone) on ASDA network - why bother with more - it texts and calls at a cheap rate yet people scoff at it for been a tight wad. But I ride a £700 mountain bike, and people mock me for spending that sort of money on a push bike!!!

I got an iphone last May when I renewed my contract.
I paid £100 for it and am locked in for 2 years.......I only usually renew for 1 year as I get bored of the phone and want to change it.
I fancied one because it was a gadget.
Would I do it again...........NO
Do I like it.......................NO
Will I get rid of it..............YES (only when the contract renews next year!)
Would I get another one....NO
I wish I hadn't bothered - don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the phone I suppose, I know that I don't use it to it's full potential, but I just can't be bothered - internet is sooo expensive (over here) unless you can wifi in to a free spot
It's a waste as far as i am concerned - and I won't be upgrading it to the next model0 -

My mountain bike cost £100
Had it about 10 years and it is built like a brick sh*thouse.
Don't see what I gain from spending more other than more likely to
get it stolen. Yea you can get lighter but that makes no difference when riding.
Twice I have had attempts to steal it and it is not worth much, you can't get much cheaper. I think with an obviously more expensive one it would be gone by now as mine would be the last on a thieves shopping list.0 -
I think a phone screen is a bit too small for the internet anyway unless it is a specialised app designed for the phone.0

Surely, the quality rises far more slowly than the price, but I know what type of quality you are likely to get for £100 (unless it was a really good deal). Loads of plastic, all rubber parts decomposed after a year, all 'plated' parts covered with rust.0 -
I waited and waited and settled for a HTC Hero for £25 on 18 months. It does everything any smartphone should do.
:money:[/QUOTE]
Is this really a fantastic deal? Virgin Mobile are often offering BlackBerries for £10.21 a month for those with another Virgin service and just a little more for others, albeit on a 24 month contract. Fantastic deal though
BUT...it's still not an iPhone....!0
