Some people's whole self worth and indentity is tied up in their over indebted house

If you like your home and can afford the mortgage so what if house prices crash??? It's your home and how much it's worth is irrelevant really unless you fall into negative equity and need to move. However, if this were the case you could rent the one you own out and rent yourself a larger one.
I should say i am LOTS happier in my nice house than i ever was renting one room in a shared house all those years ago.0 -
My sense of self worth and identity have never been tied up in a house, whether indebted or not and neither has most sane peoples. You shouldn't assume that others have the same failing that you used to have.
The capital letters poster with many different identities is just a troll looking to get a rise out of posters such as yourself, and usually succeeding.0 -

Exactly, frankly I'm amazed anyone takes the Ghouls seriously enough to have issues withChuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

Or to be bothered to reply to any of their posts, but day after day they still do.0 -

Foxy, thanks for your lessons in life.
I, like others, seem to be somewhat baffled by the apparent contradictions in your blissfully placid, happy and perfect life and your inability to accept others for what they are.
Do you really think your ready meal internet philosophy is going to change a single person on here?
I am not trying to teach anyone anything, the point of my post is to point out that there are a lot of people out there that have ploughed everything they have into their propertys and more.
To suggest to these desperate people that their biggest and only fragile asset should fall in value is on a par with cornering a wild frightened animal, just watch it lash out0 -

Ah yes. Lash out.
Which is just what you do when people suggest BTL is a perfectly legal, moral and sensible way of making money in the right circumstances.
You are a silly boy.

I have ploughed everything in property but to suggest i am desperate is rather amusing to say the least :-) I honestly don't think i have ever been happier in my life.
Why do you assume home owners with large mortgages are unhappy???0 -

I am not suggesting YOU are anything, who is generalising now, or more accurately who maybe thinks that the universe revolves around them.
I will say it again, there are huge numbers out there that are frightened to death(no, not all) who are so indebted mainly due to there desire to own property that they are now at the mercy of spending cuts, interest rate rises, job cuts etc etc
The only thing that makes all this debt slavery make sense is the little equity some have made, take that away and give people a 30% plus fall and then watch them crumble
You are just being disingenuous not to acknowledge this, the BOE are aware of the dangers, the government are, that's why policys such low interest rates are like they are0
