That's a very good idea Anwen, most men are visual creatures so I'll try it and see if it helps.
I spoke to him last night (he's working away at the moment) and he asked me what's wrong. I've been feeling crap all week and I'm also quite worried about money with xmas coming up etc so he could tell I wasn't myself. I said that I was tired and worried about money but we'll talk about it when he gets back, ie trying to not get into a big discussion over the phone...
his response - does that mean we're going to have another domestic when I get back  I must have missed the first one!! He obviously thinks that whenever the word 'money' is mentioned, it's a domestic. I think our little problem goes deeper than I realised.I can't be arsed with this. If he's going to make me out to be the nagging wife then he can sort his own bloody problems out and I won't get involved at all, even when he asks me too. I'm running out of patience with him now.
I don't want money to be the one thing that ruins a very good relationship so I may just leave him to itWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
May I suggest he contacts his bank & swaps his debit card to a cash card- that way he will need to take out just what he needs for the day (or every other day - whatever works) but wont be able to buy on the spur of the moment kinda thing. If he actualy sees in his hand that he only has £2 left......
I was forced into this by my bank but it realy helped me get a grip on my spending - i did used to check my account regularly but always 'forgot' the day befores spend which wasnt showing up yet -sighI THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0 -
