I have spent vouchers which amount to more than the £100 limit. Each time I have used the pricechecker I have used my clubcard, the same credit card to pay and the same email address. I have used the DTD vouchers to buy normal shopping 9with same clubcard and CC), and have not attempted any DTD on these receipts. I am a bit worried about any repercussions, not sure what they could threaten us with though?

I've gone over the limit too but haven't tried to hide behind another card or e-mail address, nor have I recycled my vouchers. Not sure what they could do but think if I heard anything I would feign ignorance and say I assumed they would only issue vouchers up to the limit in any one month.

Well I just got back from Tesco and used my £76 voucher for a shop which was mainly items same price as Asda but with a razor, roasting tin, Impulse, Herbal Esssences thrown in. Picked a young guy at the till, and when I handed him the voucher he looked like he hadnt seen one before. His hand wavered over the call supervisor button, so I quickly said 'They normally just scan them and enter the amount'. So he scanned it, I paid the extra £7.98 and walked out the store no problem. When I got to the car I realised I had forgotten to give him the receipt. I was in too much of a hurry to grab my new receipt out of the printer and he hadnt asked for it to remind me.
I feel relieved to have offloaded that big voucher though. It was starting to worry me to death.
Please God, help me stop spending!

Am I being greedy by spending over £150 a week on my shopping as I have a large family?

I then enter my receipt and find that £50 of my shopping is cheaper at Asda so by Tesco's T&C's - CLEARLY ADVERTISED ALL OVER MY STORE WITH LEAFLETS - I am due £100 DTD.

How is that being greedy? Or should I be devious and split my shops clearly showing to anyone what I am doing?

Seriously Tesco are in the wrong here plain and simple.

I read the article by MSE this morning and 2 things jumped out at me as wrong.

Tesco has changed the conditions of its price match guarantee against rival Asda in an attempt prevent shoppers using a loophole by buying items simply to get money back, which made some customers hundreds of pounds each.

Where is the loophole? Tesco guarenteed your shopping to be cheaper than ASDA or they would give you double the differnce.

How can we make hundreds of pounds each never mind get money back???

You get given vouchers that can only be spent in store on certain things - no money given to the customer.

I have a large family too and have in the past month shopped at Tesco doing a normal family shop and both times they came up cheaper. Most families look for the offers, best prices and cheaper store own brands to save money and in these cases tesco may well be cheaper.

I totally agree about the advertising, it is misleading, but i would never of paid £2.23 for comfort when the 2 bigger size bottles are on offer, in fact i would of bought cheapest or saved it to my next A trip.I shop wisely and this month wisely means comparing T and A before shopping and then adding a few luxuries as tesco are offering them!

I agree that we should be careful with the T battering now, we are still able to gain.

Tesco seems to be changing a lot of prices to match Asda now, or change the description so they come up as N/F.
Can anybody tell me if am right in saying Asda change their prices on a Monday and Tesco on a Thursday (both at midnight)?
So Monday first thing may well prove to be the best time to get bargains??

Tesco change their offers Tuesday midnight (when Tuesday turns into Wednesday). However, at the moment they are also changing individual prices at midnight any night (as are Asda) so always check prices on the day you want to shop! :D

I am writing this from memory so please correct me if I am wrong...I am sure I have seen two different emails from tesco on here - one saying receipts before noon on 24 March will be £100 cap and one saying receipts before Friday 25 March will be £100 cap so they are not being consistent

    How to complain
It is fast, free and easy to complain to the ASA.

The types of complaints we can look into include:
    • Misleading, harmful or offensive advertisements
    • difficulty getting goods or a refund for items bought by mail order or through television shopping channels
    • promotions that are unfairly run or special offers that have left you disappointed
    • unwanted mail from companies sent either by post, e-mail, text message or fax
    • data capture and protection of privacy
    http://www.asa.org.uk/Complaints/How-to-complain.aspx

I suggest a complaint along the lines that Tesco are 'breaking the spirit of the promotion' :rotfl:

If anyone else wants a copy of the leaflet to attach to their complaint.........

One post earlier on said that they were told that those submit receipts from Friday onwards would be capped at £20. Now I'm reading other replies which state after noon yesterday.
I made my shop at 10am. I didn't submit the receipt till about 4pm. The T&Cs had not changed when I shopped. So I shopped in good faith and now they are going back on their promise. ( I also cannot remember agreeing to a change in T&Cs by pressing submit. When was this put in?)
I fully expected conditions to change and would have been very happy with what I'd got but this is really shabby treatment.
From the price check home page(still not changed!!)

We’ll check the price of your comparable grocery shopping versus ASDA and then send you an email when we have your results. Of course we’re confident you will find your shopping cheaper at Tesco, but if not, we’ll refund double the difference.
    (my bold and underlining)

But you can't be confident as you don't care when we did the shopping. What is it got to do with the time you use the price checker? It should be what the t&cs were when the shop was done.
You are lying. You can't state that you will refund double the difference when you have no intention of honouring this above a £10 difference. But I'll bet when you find a shop is more than £10 cheaper than asda you won't cap the comparison to £10.

Time to change the lies. Perhaps
We are not at all confident in our claims so please note that the most you can get back is £20.

And if tescos isn't confident in its claim then why make it in the first place?

Surely this price check homepage is misleading????
