so let me get this right...i did my shop at 11.15 yesterday morning....i then went to pick up my son from pre-school and make lunch and therefore didnt get on the computer until after midday therefore i miss out...someone tell me how that is fair, surely it should be the time you went through the checkout????
I agree! I was out all day and didn't put my receipt in till the evening yet my shopping was done at 10.30 before the t&c changedsaving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200
£60 deposit paid :j £100 paid:j £40 paid:j0 -
you dont enter into any agreement with tesco until you submit the reciept, that is when you 'contract' begins. it only says they will compare the prices as they were at the time of the shop, not they will agree to the terms at the time of the shop0

Complained to ASA
Tesco are leading a misleading campaign in which we the customer are promised to find our shopping to be cheaper than Asda or they will refund double the difference. On no promotional material does this state that the capped limit is set at £20 and I believe that Tesco are luring customers in with the belief that their shop is "safe" as no matter if the products are cheaper at asda they will be compensated to accomodate this if need be. Great if your shopping is found to be cheaper at Tesco but if you are at the other end of the scale and have been charged significantly more then Tesco can simply state it was in the T&C's which are only available on the website. They have today stated that they wish to maintain an ethos of transparency which benefits the customer so why try and lure customers in to the store under a pretence that they will in fact be able to claim double the difference when this is far from true. It is my opinion that their advertising should have to incorporate this cap- if your shopping is up to £10 cheaper at Asda we will give you double the difference back. Please investigate this matter as I believe Tesco are grossly misleading the British public in what are already hard times in a financial sense. Kind regardsPlease remember to thank fellow MSE'rs :beer:0 -

That's not correct. You enter into a contract with Tesco at the moment they take your money and give you your purchases.
The DTD guarantee is an inducement to buy, obviously you are more comfortable shopping at Tesco 'knowing' that Asda won't be cheaper because Tesco 'guarantees' to pay you double the difference if there IS a difference.
So the IMPORTANT THING is that the T&Cs prevalent at the MOMENT YOU BUY are the T&Cs that apply to your purchase.0 -

Amazing! The guy just seems to destroy her.
"But havn't you just proved that ASDA is cheaper?"0 -
What value of vouchers have you guys used so far this month? If you've gone over the £100 what do you think T's are going to do about it?
I have spent vouchers which amount to more than the £100 limit. Each time I have used the pricechecker I have used my clubcard, the same credit card to pay and the same email address. I have used the DTD vouchers to buy normal shopping (with same clubcard and CC), and have not attempted any DTD on these receipts. I am a bit worried about any repercussions, not sure what they could threaten us with though?
I am now backing off from Pricecheck until next calendar month - if it's still going then (will still be following this thread though!!)0 -

Its worth printing out if you are going to be spending some high amount vouchers. I have got it in my bag along with my £100 voucher for spending on the 1st of April.Part_Mouse wrote: »Just received this as a response from Tesco
Thank you for your email regarding the recent changes to the Terms and Conditions of our Price Check scheme
The vast majority of our customers who use Price Check find that Tesco is cheaper than Asda. However a very small number of customers have used Price Check just to hunt down products which a competitor has on promotion and to make some money by using our guarantee. As a result we have introduced a cap on the amount you can redeem from the scheme, which is set at £20.
Whilst I appreciate your concerns over this amendment, I am pleased to say it will affect only a small number of customers, as fewer than one in 5,000 have been awarded vouchers over £20. Regrettably we had to set this to avoid manipulation of the scheme by a small number of people.
We introduced the cap yesterday but due to a technical error this was applied historically. We have now been able to resolve this problem, and any customer who submitted a price check on before 12 Noon on the 24th March will have their full amount up to £100 honoured. Please be aware that any queries submitted after this time, and going forward, will be capped at £20. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this has caused you.
Thank you for bringing this matter to the attention of our Chief Executive’s Office.
Kind RegardsLove your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.0 -

The way they spoke on the radio, they acted like the had no intention of scrapping the DTD.0
