can you claim DTD on a receipt that you used your voucher to pay for?

There's nothing in the terms to say you can't and lots of people have done this multiple times :)

Sure. You can use a voucher to pay for goods. Then get annother voucher and use that one to pay for your next lot of goods, and so on, ad infinitum (or even ad nauseum if you really push the boat out!!).

to be honest, the average genuine customer will probably find the tesco prices cheaper, as they will buy the multibuys and BOGOF's etc. so the only genuine customers who might find they 'should' get a decent DTD back, is those who dont bother with the offers and buy whatever they want, whatever the price. these people are probably quite well off in the first place, yet they will be the only ones to ever genuinely recieve a decent DTD back. no wonder these suit wearing big shots at tesco came up with this scheme, so their type would be the only genuine people to benefit.

you dont enter into any agreement with tesco until you submit the reciept, that is when you 'contract' begins. it only says they will compare the prices as they were at the time of the shop, not they will agree to the terms at the time of the shop

That's not correct. You enter into a contract with Tesco at the moment they take your money and give you your purchases.

The DTD guarantee is an inducement to buy, obviously you are more comfortable shopping at Tesco 'knowing' that Asda won't be cheaper because Tesco 'guarantees' to pay you double the difference if there IS a difference.

So the IMPORTANT THING is that the T&Cs prevalent at the MOMENT YOU BUY are the T&Cs that apply to your purchase.

Thank you for putting that much better than i could have, and i have tried several times on here ;)

Well I just got back from Tesco and used my £76 voucher for a shop which was mainly items same price as Asda but with a razor, roasting tin, Impulse, Herbal Esssences thrown in. Picked a young guy at the till, and when I handed him the voucher he looked like he hadnt seen one before. His hand wavered over the call supervisor button, so I quickly said 'They normally just scan them and enter the amount'. So he scanned it, I paid the extra £7.98 and walked out the store no problem. When I got to the car I realised I had forgotten to give him the receipt. I was in too much of a hurry to grab my new receipt out of the printer and he hadnt asked for it to remind me.
I feel relieved to have offloaded that big voucher though. It was starting to worry me to death.

don't you need your "new " receipt for your next claim though???:(

  • Been out today and over 50 pages to catch up on! Wow, this thread moves far too fast, what have I missed?

Personally I am slightly thankful of the £20 limit, means for the first time I have managed to get some lamb today. Hurrah!

I have a large family too and have in the past month shopped at Tesco doing a normal family shop and both times they came up cheaper. Most families look for the offers, best prices and cheaper store own brands to save money and in these cases tesco may well be cheaper.

I totally agree about the advertising, it is misleading, but i would never of paid £2.23 for comfort when the 2 bigger size bottles are on offer, in fact i would of bought cheapest or saved it to my next A trip.I shop wisely and this month wisely means comparing T and A before shopping and then adding a few luxuries as tesco are offering them!

I agree that we should be careful with the T battering now, we are still able to gain.

    Hello

Out of [STRIKE]noseyness[/STRIKE] interest :D where do you normally shop?

See I would take advantage, like you, of Mr T's BOGOF'S etc, like today I bought the pasta BUY 1 GET 2 FREE, the Coca Cola 2L bottles were matched to Morrissons BUY 2 GET 2 FREE.

Me too re the Comfort, I would buy Tesco's own brand of "Pure" but have to say, my washing smells fresher this time...

They need to get their act together asap I bet they regret changing the T & C's it's cost them more, and if there was such a minority then just leave it alone

I stupidly did a shop today and have now lost the receipt! I'm an idiot, that'll teach me for being so disorganised. Stocked up on herbal essences and cola, but now can't claim dtd back. Start afresh the 1st April I think.
