OK I will leave it there, no more from me on that subject. I just happen to feel strongly about dishonesty.

That is perfectly HONEST because you didn't claim a DTD voucher on the wine and subsequently also return the wine.

This is the SAME as arronc's friend getting his money back as the reciept had been used already to get a DTD voucher?

Or am i missing something here?

    No voucher yet.
But for info I have got a reply from my email sent to CS yesterday during the chaos:

"I am sorry that you have experienced difficulties with our price check scheme. I can appreciate how frustrating this must have been for you.

We always work hard to make sure the service we offer our customers is the best possible.

After being made aware of manipulation of the scheme by a small number of customers we have taken the decision to implement a cap of £20.00 on any refund entitlements to protect the initiative. The vast majority of customers don’t receive any refund at all after they check their real shop against Asda because they see that Tesco is cheaper.

The £20.00 cap became effective on our website from noon on Thursday the 24th of March. Regrettably, due to some technical issues the changes were applied historically. This meant that a minority of customers found their vouchers reverted to £20.00.

This issue has now been resolved with the £20.00 cap now being effective for requests submitted from Friday 25th of March. If you have submitted a price check prior to this date please re check your link where the original voucher should now be visible.

While I appreciate there is little that can be said or done to alleviate any inconvenience this matter has caused you. I sincerely hope that despite this unfortunate situation, you will give us the opportunity to restore your confidence in our operations.
If you have any further queries regarding this matter please do not hesitate to call our dedicated Customer Service team on 0800 50 55 55.

so does that mean that any receipts submitted yesterday will not be capped at £20 - or is that just wishful thinking?

V off topic (sorry) but couldn't help but laugh when I saw this when I was reading the Daily Mail story about the £20 cap. Just what are people doing whilst waiting for the next DtD special to come out?

Even more laughs from this thread! Thanks!

If he had received cash back I could see your point but he hasn't. He has received a gift card that he has to spend at tesco. Just the same as a voucher. Only difference is he has spent it on something else. It is the same as some using there DTD voucher on a kindle he has used my giftcards on a TV.

The value of the wine has just simply been spent on something else at tesco. Explain to me how it is FRAUD. It's clealy not and people should not say it is when they don't know what fruad is. he was open and honest with the CS lady and she agreed that it would go on a gift card.He has not tried to decieve anyone in the slightest.

    Thats my view anyways!

ermmmm im presumming all the wine purchased by ur 'friend' bar the 1st lot was purchased using 'rollover vouchers' so the £441 on the moneycard was pretty much all voucher money is that correct..... I really hope for ur friends sake they didnt take his name and address when purchasing telly if this was the case lol id say this was pretty dodgy ground if only with the £100 per month rule they have .....

I had already claimed a DTD voucher for the wine.

The wine was paid for using a DTD voucher.

I havent deceived anyone. How it was paid for doesnt affect my right to return it. If they decide to pay it back to my card, so be it.

the heavily emphasised term is "intended for genuine weekly shop"

Re 'genuine weekly shopping', what if someone is having a dinner party and buys some Bombay Sapphire (as an aperitif), lots of red and white wine, racks of lamb for the entree, new roasting pans to cook them in, cheese for afters, Baileys with the dessert, maybe some After Eights to pass round and some Douwe Egberts to serve just before the guests go home? Oh and some Dettol apple spray for clearing up! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The gift card was sill spent with tesco, if they had given cash or i demanded cash it would be a different matter.

...sorry, confused pregnant lady....surely the money has been spent twice, and tesco's has only got it once?

you buy £100 stuff balance -£100 cash

you get a £100 dtd voucher, use it to buy more stuff balance -£100 cash + £100 worth of stuff

you return original stuff, get £100 gift card balance -£100 cash +£100 stuff + £100 gift card

you use gift card to buy stuff. balance -£100 cash + £200 stuff

I think I've worked out what the clause in the Ts and Cs about the 'spirit' of the promotion meant...surely if your receipt has been initialled to say you've used the voucher then you shouldn't be able to return it?

I do agree that Tesco messed up though...and of course they did, Asda has a price guarantee saying they'll be 10% cheaper, so I'm not sure how they hoped to pull this off...

Ooops pressed Thanks by mistake how can I take that back?

The DISHONESTY is claiming the voucher and ALSO getting your money back (or gift card, same thing) on the SAME GOODS.

How is it dishonest. His voucher would clearly stated he paid using a 'COUPON'.

He buys wine, returns home enters receipt details, get anaother voucher, and so on for as many times as tesco allow him. He hen decides this is wine is horrible, So returns the value of the wine say £200 for arguments sake. So the value of the wine is the same that has been issued to him in vouchers. CS women agrees and gives him gift card to that value, similar to a voucher? So I ask you again there is no financial advantage. No extra cash made from doing this AND has stuck to tesco's own terms and conditions. So you are either jealous or don't understand.
