Are you lot for real?! Has NO-ONE got anything better to do than complain about a supermarket issue? The world is falling down around our feet and you lot seem so hard done by. There are 15,000 people still missing in Japan and all you can do is moan about an error on a poxy website, you're all very understanding and sympathetic (Pfft!). The british public this day and age is an utter disgrace, would you still be complaining if we were under aerial attack or if we had an earthquake or a tsunami rip the guts out of our country. Having read this page i am ashamed to call myself a british citizen.
Can I just check - are you out there at the moment helping with the relief operation?
How much did you give to Comic Relief?
What volunteer work do you do weekly?
What charities do you have a direct debit to?The people in my life: Betty Crocker, Mr. T and Gordon (of Gordon's gin) :T0 -
utter disgrace comment

Hi All,
Been following this thread all the way though up to today.
I have my first dtd voucher for £53, and read that maybe it would be capped at £20.
So off i drove to Tesco ( 15 miles away ) fully prepared for maybe being told that i could not use it for the full amount.
What i wasnt prepared for was, when handing over my voucher to the sales assistant, she shouted to another sales assistant, who came marching over, looked at my voucher and said she would have to take it to the manager. ( I also had original receipt )
I asked the till lady why she thought this was, she smirked and shrugged her shoulders.
By now i have a massive queue behind me, all tutting and sighing.
The assistant came back and informed me in a very loud voice, that the manager refused to accept the voucher as it was clearly a forgery.
I asked to see the manager but i was told that she was busy.
By now i was mortified and very close to tears.
The till lady said will you be paying for this shopping or not.
I mustered what dignity i had left and told her to stuff the shopping!
I managed to get to the car before bursting into tears.
Then the red mist came down.
I marched back into the shop and demanded off a very young boy, the customer services number.
I rang them up, and between sobbing and crying, told them
what had happened.
He took the details and assured me the voucher i had was genuine.
He rang up the store, then rang me back to say he had worded the manager and would i like to go back in and finish my shopping.
You can guess what i said!!!
Anyway the upshot is that i am getting a £20 gift card, and can use my voucher.
But it wont be at that shop!!
Nothing they offer me can make p for being called a thief in front of a queue of customers
Sorry this is so long winded for a first post.
People get a lot more than £20 in that situation. Being falsely called a fraudster in public is not very different to being called a shoplifter.
What about your damaged feelings and injured reputation?
You could take this a lot further if you were so minded. You have already effectively documented what hapened by phoning CS.0 -

Oh my days oscar123 I feel for you!
I have a £50 voucher and some smaller ones, I think next time I will take a little printed sign to put up behind my shopping on the belt "Be warned, I'm using a voucher, expect delays!"0 -
Just checked my voucher and it has gone back up to what it should have been, was only £2 difference for me so no big deal but have just confirmed with my mother that her voucher has gone back up from £20 to £25.
So check your vouchers and print - QUICKTotal 2019: £3972 - Best win this year £3000
2018 total £4062/2017 total £2260/ 2016 total £2025/ 2015 total £3809.0 -

I was on Club Penguin earlier and all they were talking about was RUDDY PENGUINS you'd think they didn't know that there were constant natural disasters and wars and have been for thousands of years and will be for thousands of years. Would you still be complaining if your penguins were under aerial attack or a tsunami ripped the roof off your igloo? I'm ashamed to call myself a club penguin member.
It's all about perspective having a hissy fit at Tesco doesn't mean you don't care about Tsunami's or Earthquakes it's not mutually exclusive. If we all thought oh I won't complain because of:
People starving Africa
Tsunami
Earthquake
Wars
We'd never doing anything.
This is a Tesco thread so hence all the discussions about Tesco is it any wonder why no one is discussing natural disasters with terrible loss of life0 -
Not taking any chances, so have just been and spent my 2 £40 ones printed off today. Spent one on a new phone, no problem the other on a normal shop. Quite a relief doing a normal shop, no issues at the till at all.0

Whilst it doesn't actually say so in the T&Cs I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that you have to return any items to the store they were purchased at.0
