    Hi All,
Been following this thread all the way though up to today.
I have my first dtd voucher for £53, and read that maybe it would be capped at £20.
So off i drove to Tesco ( 15 miles away ) fully prepared for maybe being told that i could not use it for the full amount.
What i wasnt prepared for was, when handing over my voucher to the sales assistant, she shouted to another sales assistant, who came marching over, looked at my voucher and said she would have to take it to the manager. ( I also had original receipt )
I asked the till lady why she thought this was, she smirked and shrugged her shoulders.
By now i have a massive queue behind me, all tutting and sighing.
The assistant came back and informed me in a very loud voice, that the manager refused to accept the voucher as it was clearly a forgery.
I asked to see the manager but i was told that she was busy.
By now i was mortified and very close to tears.
The till lady said will you be paying for this shopping or not.
I mustered what dignity i had left and told her to stuff the shopping!
I managed to get to the car before bursting into tears.
Then the red mist came down.
I marched back into the shop and demanded off a very young boy, the customer services number.
I rang them up, and between sobbing and crying, told them
    what had happened.
He took the details and assured me the voucher i had was genuine.
He rang up the store, then rang me back to say he had worded the manager and would i like to go back in and finish my shopping.
You can guess what i said!!!
Anyway the upshot is that i am getting a £20 gift card, and can use my voucher.
But it wont be at that shop!!
Nothing they offer me can make p for being called a thief in front of a queue of customers
Sorry this is so long winded for a first post.
hi re my post on this sorry i'm new i have very useful email addy if you would like it? sorry to hear you was treated so badly

Oscar 123 - absolutely appalled at the way you were treated. If they dare treat me like that I will kick up such a fuss they will never forget me again. Im pleased you got a gift card but it certainly shouldnt have happened in the first place. Where on earth do Tesco find these employees??
Please God, help me stop spending!

Does anyone know what time tesco changed the terms back from £100 cap to £20 as I know they changed back briefly today. Thanks in advance :)
Please remember to thank fellow MSE'rs

Put all my goodies away and then log my reciept details, to then come on here and have the smile wiped off my face!! Was hoping for £70 dtd, that will teach me. Gutted!!!

a newbie here so still getting to grips with this promotion and so far have done it all wrong!! :(

up until this morning had done 3 shops...getting braver each time and spending my own money...so this morning i decide to 'recycle' a £58 voucher that most of you appear to have been doing and buy a load more DTD items which i did and spent over £80 which included a roasting pan, razor and olay cream.....none of which i actually needed!! so anyway i get home and submit my receipt and then pop on here to find 'the sh*t has hit the fan' and Tesco have now capped the vouchers to £20  so i feel i have now wasted £58 that couldve been spent on things i actually need.....however i'll get over it but my question now is this:

can i return some of the stuff and still claim the £20 voucher they will send me tomorrow or is it a case of using the £20 and keeping the useless items....or return the majority of 'non-perishables' (which i'm dreading doing!) and then forfeit the £20? hope this makes sense?!

    there's your problem.

People get a lot more than £20 in that situation. Being falsely called a fraudster in public is not very different to being called a shoplifter.

What about your damaged feelings and injured reputation?

You could take this a lot further if you were so minded. You have already effectively documented what hapened by phoning CS.

i would take this further too
    absolutley shocking
and she was too busy to come and speak with you!!! disgraceful
i would try and find out the name of the manage rinvolved and ensure she is disciplined
£20 compo seems a bit tight as well to me:D

Please press the thanks button when someone has helped!
