Tesco/Asda pricechecker finds here.......

I have a £60 voucher for a £55 shop which I was intending to use next week (next month) for normal shopping.
My Dad still has a £42 voucher from a £39 shop and a £24 voucher from a £25 shop.
If Tesco staff have had memos about not accepting higher value DTD's than reciepts, what can we say/do? i know it doesn't say in their T&C's, but I can just imagine the staff saying, "but we have to follow our memo", e.t.c "otherwise we'll get it"...

Oh I like this bit,
After careful consideration, we decided that our new way of comparing prices, which allows customers to check the price of an entire shop, was the type of service that we wanted to focus on. This being the case, I am sorry to say that our previous 'single item' Price Checker will not be returning.
What new way???? Spending our money first then checking????? Bit late then.
If that were me with the torn receipt I would be down there now sorting it -asking for a print or whatever - oh how about taking the lot back.
Tomorrow may be too late. They will probably accuse you of using your voucher and tearing the initals off so try and use it again or whatever they can spout off the top of their heads.
Which store was this ??? Oh I see now.
You need to ask everyone who quoted your message to delete their meassages too - or part of.0 -
In my opinion CALM DOWN DEARS!!! :rotfl:
You'll all be fine! Remember, Tesco cannot POSSIBLY prove you aren't operating 'within the spirit of the promotion' just by what you've bought, unless you are going mental and going way over the 100 limit. There is no way that they can prove that you weren't just buying 2 Turner merlots, 2 Nivea creams, 4 lots of Frosties etc. anyway.
And remember - for every person posting here who has had a problem, there will be THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of people who are successfully doing this every day so far. There are 2050 tesco stores in the UK - we've only heard here about 30 max that are causing problems? And even then it's probably just mostly individual jobsworths.
My humble advice is as follows:
1. smile and be a really cheery, lovely person at the checkout or customer services. This makes it MUCH harder for them to be mean to you.
2. always pick a spotty male teenager who looks really bored to serve you at the checkout. In my experience they just don't give a cr*p and certainly don't want/can't be bothered to call supervisors over. If they take a second glance at the voucher, just say 'it should scan through ok' whereupon they will almost invariably try to scan it - job done!
3. if you ARE ever challenged about this, continue to be lovely, but very, very firm. If worst comes to worst, old-fashioned complaining letters may have to be written and you may be in it for the long haul - but worth it for some free food and fun I say.
In short - this is FUN, no-one can deny - the adrenaline is all part of the game! Thanks to all the wonderful posters on here. :TThe people in my life: Betty Crocker, Mr. T and Gordon (of Gordon's gin) :T0 -

Yay - Mr T manager didn't know how to put the voucher thru on his .com computer as there's a max of £50 on there so he put it thru as £50 voucher and the rest as a straight refund so should be back any day now result!!0

As much as I love to read about all your (unfortunately bad) experiences with the stores I am not very worried atm, I think it's gonna take ages for all stores to be informed about the promotion, my local seems to be totally clueless or just doesn't care as long as they get the money back from the vochers... Used multi recycled a lot and nobody ever seemed interested in my old receipt
Even if at some point they wont send me a dtd vocher or refuse one I got more then enough for the money I paid in cash... Everyone just keep going, change SA or store if it has to be
I think lots of problems come up because the stuff doesn't know about the vochers, doesn't want anyone to benefit from it or just has a bad day... keep trying, I think it's well worth it
go home, have a glass of wine(Baileys/Bombay/whatever mr T paid you to get) and try again tomorrow :P Love this thread even tough it's hard to keep up(can't belive I have read ALL the pages...)
<hugs>

Quick update......
Hubby now home & printing off voucher for me. My email today contained a voucher for £118 (I didn't mean to be greedy, just got a bit carried away) but when he's now printing it off, it's been reduced to £100:eek:
I have to say I'm not too bothered, as long as they accept that, I'm a happy girlNow thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0 -

Other than that Turner Road is the only one that pays you to drink it, as far as I'm aware. But be careful as it has reported some stores have change the price. Make sure you pay £9.99
In my local store today there was a old SEL (out of date) £4.99, Turner Road Chardonnay....I picked up 3 was over charged at the till(£9.99)....went to CS was refunded £30 there and then.
I did all my DTD shopping in a seperate transaction spent £30 (hopefully will get a refund of around £25.Slimming world new starter 2/1/17:D:DWeight loss so far 5 stone 8 lbs
