When I was shopping today with a £17 voucher on goods purchased total value 18 pounds the cashier took my receipt and voucher she said it was ok as the value of the voucher was less than original shop and they would no longer be accepting vouchers with greater amount than original shop. For example spend 50 pounds and get dtd for voucher for £55 so just a word of warning

I'm a bit confused...well a lot actually. On reading the new terms i thought it meant you couldn't use a voucher for a shop less than the value of the voucher? Although that probably doesn't make sense and the above probably does more so.

I think I've made a mistake then as I didn't know about that today and bought 3 Turner wine, which came to 29.97, but I used a 25.00 voucher on it. So if I get a dtd back for 29.97 is that still okay to use? I'm really not getting this am I?!

For security I'd actually be more tempted to phone and cancel your clubcard invade someone dishonest tries to steal your points- they'll send you a new one. Unfortunately there will be someone out there willing to try and pull a fast one :(

Good point Nutty, I was thinking of the Mr T Trolls!

I have just got back from spending my £112 voucher. I put it towards a shop of £150.

It was well funny. The cashier looked visibly shocked by the voucher amount and had to call for a manager to verify. This fat bint then called store manager who came and had a look. He laughed and said "is there any more of the Merlot left?". New i was fiddling them but i just waltzed on through.

Just entering new receipt into Price Check now Value is again over £100.

Hardys Crest Cabernet Shiraz Merlot might be worth a go if you can get it for £10.49 a bottle, but my local was scanning at £5.24 again today. Other than that Turner Road is the only one that pays you to drink it, as far as I'm aware. But be careful as it has reported some stores have change the price. Make sure you pay £9.99

As some of you may know I sent an email off to Philip Clarke last week regarding the pricechecker website. I was fobbed off with a response from one of his secretaries. I decided to send off another email asking if the pricechecker website would be back at any point during this promotion. I got a reply from Customer Service Executive!
    Dear *******

Thank you for your email addressed to Philip Clarke our Chief Executive, regarding our Price Check website, to which I have been asked to respond.

We recently relaunched our Price Check facility, and have added further functionality to improve our customers experience and promote our great value prices. The new website is based upon purchases made, and a customer would input either their receipt details from a store purchase or Grocery Home Shopping order. Once these details have been submitted, our team then work hard to compare the prices for the products a customer has bought, with our largest competitor ASDA. Whilst we are confident that we will be cheaper, we have however committed ourselves to providing a voucher worth 'double the difference' in case we are not in any particular instance.

Regrettably, because of the way in which the information for the previous Price Checker had to be gathered, the prices were not always right up to date and we did receive complaints regarding this. Additionally, we noticed a significant drop in the number of customers that were using this resource in favour of the new system. After careful consideration, we decided that our new way of comparing prices, which allows customers to check the price of an entire shop, was the type of service that we wanted to focus on. This being the case, I am sorry to say that our previous 'single item' Price Checker will not be returning.

Having said this, we very much appreciate your feedback and I would like to assure you that your comments regarding this matter have been noted and will be kept in mind for any future review of this service.

Thank you once again for bringing this matter to the attention of our Chief Executive's Office. I hope that we can look forward to your continued and valued custom in the future.

    Kind Regards

    Ewan Small
    Customer Service Executive
