Dear Ms Cooke
Thank you for your email to Philip Clarke our Chief Executive, to which I have been asked to respond.
I was concerned to learn that you experienced a problem, after having input details to our Tesco Price Check website. I understand why you would be unhappy and I apologise for any inconvenience caused.
The Daz Washing Powder 80 was 5.44KG product that you have advised us of does indeed appear to be £12 when purchased from our competitor, ASDA. Please accept my apologies that our Price Check team have been unable to include this in their comparison on this occasion.
The good news is that this product is now on promotion with Tesco and now only costs £8.00 per unit. This is a saving of £8.34 from our normal retail price, and a saving of £4 on the ASDA price.
I don't want you to be unhappy with your purchase, and so with this in mind, I have sent you a Tesco Moneycard to cover the 'double the difference' commitment that we have made on our Price Check website. I hope that this meets with your satisfaction.
Thank you once again for taking the time and trouble to bring this matter to the attention of our Chief Executive's Office.
Kind Regards
and this regarding the price check thingy
Dear Miss Cooke
Thank you for your email addressed to Philip Clarke our Chief Executive, regarding our Price Check website, to which I have been asked to respond.
We recently relaunched our Price Check facility, and have added further functionality to improve our customers experience and promote our great value prices. The new website is based upon purchases made, and a customer would input either their receipt details from a store purchase or Grocery Home Shopping order. Once these details have been submitted, our team then work hard to compare the prices for the products a customer has bought, with our largest competitor ASDA. Whilst we are confident that we will be cheaper, we have however committed ourselves to providing a voucher worth 'double the difference' in case we are not in any particular instance.
Regrettably, because of the way in which the information for the previous Price Checker had to be gathered, the prices were not always right up to date and we did receive complaints regarding this. Additionally, we noticed a significant drop in the number of customers that were using this resource in favour of the new system. After careful consideration, we decided that our new way of comparing prices, which allows customers to check the price of an entire shop, was the type of service that we wanted to focus on. This being the case, I am sorry to say that our previous 'single item' Price Checker will not be returning.
Having said this, we very much appreciate your feedback and I would like to assure you that your comments regarding this matter have been noted and will be kept in mind for any future review of this service.
Thank you once again for bringing this matter to the attention of our Chief Executive's Office. I hope that we can look forward to your continued and valued custom in the future.
Kind Regards

Today i spent my 1st voucher (£83) and the man on the till had to call the supervisor. She took it away, i've no idea where to, but then came back and put it through. I wasn't 'allowed' to keep the receipt that went with it though. they kept the receipt but printed me off a copy.0

As some of you may know I sent an email off to Philip Clarke last week regarding the pricechecker website. I was fobbed off with a response from one of his secretaries. I decided to send off another email asking if the pricechecker website would be back at any point during this promotion. I got a reply from Customer Service Executive!

For security I'd actually be more tempted to phone and cancel your clubcard incase someone dishonest tries to steal your points- they'll send you a new one. Unfortunately there will be someone out there willing to try and pull a fast onePlease remember to thank fellow MSE'rs :beer:0
