i don't think stopping us rolling our vouchers is such and awful thing, all it would mean (in my case anyway) i do a dtd shop get a voucher then spend it on my normal weekly shop, then do the same the next week, if it means the promotion lasts longer i i'd rather this happen than them pull it

well we've had several suggestions of what is going to happen with this latets tesco 'offer' - e.g. offer only valid for clubcard users, offer being pulled soon etc.

but this idea does seem to be the best; it should stop people reusing their vouchers all the time.

As I will have already paid for my items at that point I will make sure to snatch my receipt machine before they get the chance. ;)

    ****UPDATE - DTD****

just went to use a £20 DTD voucher at a local store. i did another DTD shop (before you ask madmuppet5, i did buy a pack of lamb!) and bought some other bits 'n' bobs.

SA at till got a senior supervisor; querying about the time difference (12/24 hour clock). the supervisor went to ring tesco HQ with regards to the time difference. i knew there'd be nothing wrong so wasn't worried.

came back within 2 minutes, she apologised and put the voucher through. BUT, she said that the new policy is to sign both the old receipt and the new receipt! i questioned this, what if i wanted to return an item?

her answer? she said you could return an item, no problem (they sign on the same line as the product). her reason for signing the new receipt was to prevent me using that again for a new DTD voucher.

seems like a reasonable way to stop the recycling of DTD vouchers and receipts.

this is obviously not nationwide atm, but as word/news/memos get sent to tesco employees, i can imagine most of you will be encountering this fairly soon.

    ****UPDATE - DTD****

    can I just confirm please.

so when you shop and use a coupon they sign the old reciept (as they should of always done) and they also sign your new reciept that you have just purchased your new shop with using a coupon.

so all receipts should end up having been signed twice,so nil and void concerning future forgery re-using

I think thats fine as I have no intention of tryingto use any coupons illegally (plus would be to scared to!)

but my only concern is,going by how 'well!!!' Tesco staff have been trained/informed (bad mr t!) that a lot of staff aren't going to know this and see that a genuine unused reciept/coupon has been signed so refuse/report it/you.:(

have I done that right :)

Actually they did this sign a new reciept AND old receipt about 4 days ago. It was only 1 particular store in my city tho. I have since been a couple of times to different stores and some people at the till don't even ask for the reciept so it will DEPEND on you particular store and checkout person. No worries as of yet but watch out.

Also can any tell me which particular version of Hardys crest is being DTD'd? I know it's not the chardonnay version right?

Same thing happened me with Nescafe Alta Rica coffee.

I rang up CS on 0800 505 555 and they said that at the time of checking, there was no equivilant available on the Asda website. However the bloke was very nice and checked it manually. He apologised for the inconvenience and is sending me a voucher for double the difference (£3.38) and is rounding it up to £5 as a goodwill gesture.

I think it is an honest mistake as we all know that websites are not 100% accurate 100% of the time but just make sure you chase it up.

Would they be sending that by post or e-mail??

No email received here either, so just re-entered my receipt from yesterday, and up popped the voucher.
The only thing that didn't work on my list was the 5 x Snickers bars. What are people doing about these - taking them back or contacting CS? (I'm at work so don't really fancy ringing them.)

I'm not bothering when the amounts are so small - snickers, mars etc. Can't really see the point of making too much fuss at HQ when I've done so well on big stuff. Would be a different matter if it was the wine or roasting tins!

Hmm. I think I'd ask them to call head office, the receipt is your property once you have paid, i'd guess this is the brain wave of that particular store manager?

but then your 'old' receipt is your property and that gets signed anyway.

as i said, the supervisor actually went to ring tesco HQ, so there was no store manager involved - unless they were on the phone?!

one thing is for certain, i won't be using that store tomorrow! still gonna do a DTD shop at another store. luckily, i have about 10 stores within a 5 mile radius.

just a warning for other people.
