Wondering how to take non-perishables back (I forgot to buy decaf, damn)...do you do it before spending your voucher or after? I was thinking after but wondered what other people thought.

I am getting so tired of these kinda posts...I'm not sticking up for Tesco but Asda isn't the cheapest for everyone and i wish people would stop saying Asda is always the cheapest and putting it on some pedestal...

We are targeting the most expensive items deliberately here, none of the shops any of us on this thread have been doing are weekly or monthly "normal" shops....

    ok rant over...:o

I think that is fair comment. I am far from a Tesco fan (believe me) but this promotion has highlighted just how similar they are in price.

If Tesco have let themselves down it is by doubling the price to offer BOGOF. I think we'll soon see the end of BOGOF.

Yes, that's true, but overall I do find Asda cheapest. The only reason I shop at T is that there is no Asda or Sainsbury's near my house, just Tesco, Co-op and M&S Food. If I had the choice I would shop around more. I don't drive so only make it to A or S when I can persuade OH to go in the car (he loves the convenience of Tesco being close by).

    ****UPDATE - DTD****

just went to use a £20 DTD voucher at a local store. i did another DTD shop (before you ask madmuppet5, i did buy a pack of lamb!) and bought some other bits 'n' bobs.

SA at till got a senior supervisor; querying about the time difference (12/24 hour clock). the supervisor went to ring tesco HQ with regards to the time difference. i knew there'd be nothing wrong so wasn't worried.

came back within 2 minutes, she apologised and put the voucher through. BUT, she said that the new policy is to sign both the old receipt and the new receipt! i questioned this, what if i wanted to return an item?

her answer? she said you could return an item, no problem (they sign on the same line as the product). her reason for signing the new receipt was to prevent me using that again for a new DTD voucher.

seems like a reasonable way to stop the recycling of DTD vouchers and receipts.

this is obviously not nationwide atm, but as word/news/memos get sent to tesco employees, i can imagine most of you will be encountering this fairly soon.

i hope so half price is much more useful :) my mum swears asda is cheaper, but really it's not and she spends £15 in desil to get there there and back where as she's near a tesco every few days so would cost pennys to get there but she won't listen she's set in her ways (altho thanks to this she has a £94 voucher to spend so maybe seeing what £94 will acually get her will convert her)

Blooming hope so, have 8 bottles on my desk (as does a colleague).

just wondering, cause i've heard conflicting reports. It's the Hardy's Crest Cabaret Shiraz right? No sauvignon or merlot in the title right or is it a different one. Many thanks.
