  • I had one lazy, horrible superviser last night at about 10.15pm, tell me I couldnt use a DTD voucher through the self-serve, it had to go through a normal till. But they were all closed, so it would need to go through customer services. I began loading my stuff back into the trolley, before being told by the nasty troll that customer services shuts at 10. She said I should come back tomorrow, so I informed her I would be ringing head office as the voucher did not say I had to use it before 10pm, and asked what time her checkouts closed. She avoided the question and informed me they were shut. I replied that yes, I had heard her, but what time do they close - for future reference. She then huffed and puffed, never answered a time, but shouted a girl over (that had been cleaning the tills) and told her to open them "just this once". If you don't stand your ground they treat you like rubbish. Rant over :)

Nope, they won't accept B&W vouchers at all, ever, at one of our locals. They are adamant that a B&W voucher is a "photocopy" (this is management level). We've had 20 minute rows over it but they won't budge. Short of taking them to court for defamation (sp?) of character (accusing us of fraud) there is no more we can do.

Does anyone know if this is an issue in other stores? I only have a black& white laser printer and was hoping to use this to print my 2x £40 vouchers.

I think I'm more nervous about using the vouchers after reading about other peoples' issues than I was about getting the voucher in the first place!

what a load of rubbish they come up with sometimes.

i had to use mine on a self-service till too as all manned checkout were closed. i got the attention of the SA and she said it wasn't a problem. she saved my transaction, opened a manned till just for me and put the voucher through. took 30 seconds at most.

As one of those people who reported problems using the voucher a few days ago would like to confrim that everything was resolved the following day.

In fact the CS desk handed over cash for the total amount of the voucher meaning I did not even have to shop in Tesco that day :)

Just done another one day and am a little worried about the Isla Negra wine, has anyone got DTD on this recently?

If you have the matching receipt then I don't know what their problem is. The stores shouldn't be accepting them without the matching receipt. It is their own fault if they aren't checking.

Use the webpage www.tescocomments.com and make a complaint. Not your fault you don't have a colour printer and it isn't in the TandCs that it has to be in colour.

The original post that this referred to was about someone having trouble with their barcode scanning and I was explaining that it could be a problem with printer quality, especially if you use inkjets.
My comments about the B&W vs Colour vouchers was merely to explain how I knew about the difference (never had a problem with laser prints scanning but HAVE had problems with inkjets scanning so suggesting using a high quality print).
I haven't had a problem redeeming my colour inkjet printed DTD voucher (I used high quality) it scanned straight away.
I no longer use the store that won't accept B&W prints but continue to use colour so that there is one less excuse they can use if they decide to be awkward.

I was super nervous using mine yesterday to buy more DTD items. It was queried by the cashier but once I told him how to input it, gave him a copy of the terms and conditions I had printed off and pointed out all of the signage covering the store advertising it, he soon let me use it!:p Bit scared of going back today though if my new voucher ever comes through ;)

Don't panic!!! I was referring to problems in the past at a store I no longer use because they are horrible and crooked! Hopefully stores like that are few and far between! In the days of R&R (RIP) I used to visit more than 10 stores within 15 miles of me and only the one had the issue with B&W prints.
