i personally think this is a win win for tesco
they have people going out there specifically to buy more expensive goods??
fine you get the DTD back but its not real cash and you still had the more expensive initial spend (alot of people will be tempted to buy stuff they don't normally get in the frenzy of this thread as usual)
the you get vouchers and spend them on the most expensive things all over again!!!!!!
win win for tesco methinks!
I sort of agree with you, but the customer should ultimately win if the customer is savvy!
Don't go buying 20 bottles of Bombay Sapphire only to have them sat in a cupboard for a couple of years.
I'm looking very carefully at what I can buy tomorrow, but I will only buy what I really would get in the first place or groceries that will definitely be used.
I've been looking on and off today, so far I only have 6 items on my shopping list
Tesco Total £14.62
Asda Total £7.93
DTD £13.32 to spend at a later date in Tesco
but I have to spend £5.39 more in Tesco for 6 items, almost £1 extra per item!
Still unsure whether I will be doing it. I don't particularly like Asda or Tesco, I prefer Morrisons and Sainsburys.
When I tried upping my Clubcard points a few years ago I ended up with rubbish I had no use for, so I soon stopped doing that and took my business elsewhere. Tesco, in my opinion, is a very cold supermarket, and I don't mean as in temperature! But if I can be sure to save real £££s I don't mind doing a little bit of shopping there.0 -
Hope I've done this right
Finish Quantum Regular 20s £6.94 Tesco, £4.00 Asda
Fairy Allin One D/Washlemon 28'S £7.66 Tesco, £4.09 Asda
ETA: Comfort Exhilarations Strawberry 750ml £2.23 Tesco, £1.00 Asda0 -

everytime i have clubcard vouchers for tesco i have major difficulty spending them, it is not a shop i will spend more than a few quid in because it is soooo expensive on most things, unless theres some good offers on, i find more often though their offers can STILL be beaten by asda or morrisons (which often have v similar offers on at the same time)GRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED

Help, I bought some Ambi Pur 3vol National Geo Japan Rituals for £9.40 (£4 at asda) & Airwick I-Motionmini Freshmatic Silk & Or Orchid for £10.21 (£5 at asda), submitted the reciept online & then about 10 mins later they updated the prices so asda were the same as tesco.
I did print screen, are they likely to honour it??0 -

Go-Cat Tuna Herring & Veg 2kg Tesco £5.09 / Asda £4.97
Princes Tuna Chunks In Brine (or sunflower oil) 4x185g Tesco £5.39 / Asda £3 (seems like a huge difference!)
is that a good deal? or is there a typo?:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member

I suspect they will honour it, as it's supposed to be till receipt time, worst case receipt submission time, to play safe don't open the products, if they don't honour it take them back for a refund saying you've found out since they're cheaper to go and buy at ASDA.0 -

i can see where you're coming from. for the majority of money savers, this works out well. but for a minority the offer may not be worth the hassle.
i still think this is a very good deal, only if you think about what you're buying. i posted this earlier which explains why i think this is a fab deal!
'the way i see this offer is quite simple.
i normally do £20 - £40 shops at tesco - this is money that i would have spent normally.
i did some shoppping yesterday for a few of the products listed on mse; not necessarily items i normally buy (due to the price), but they are items i can use without any problems. i got items like the banrock, cereal, cheese etc. i spent £40 yesterday on these items.
today i get my price check results; i received a £40 voucher.
i will use this voucher for a £40 shop that i will normally do in 2 weeks time.
therefore, the items that i bought yesterday were free.'
