Done my shop today thanks everyone, spent £75 and will have spent only £15 after voucher back :)

I picked up the batteries but they had put the wrong batteries on the shelf where the discounted ones were, grrr, can I get a refund or will that cause problems its a n/f item I wish to return?

Sorry to add to the list of people asking for confirmation of their calculations but going to anyway.

I'm feeling a bit braver about this now after last nights successful DTD shop and was thinking of trying something more expensive today.

Planning to get the Jacobs Creeks Shiraz Rose x 6. Am I correct in thinking they will calculate DTD based on 6 x 8.99 not including the 5% bulk buy discount?

If so I think I should get back a voucher for ((6*8.99)-(6*5))*2 i.e. £47.88 on a spend of £51.24 so 6 bottles for £3.36 - surely that can't be right?

thats correct. the DTD dosent include the 5% discount so yes the wine is £3.36 a bottle.

My friend and I went shopping at the same time last night and bought virtually the same stuff... my friend put in the details as soon as we got back to his house, then I put mine in about an hour later when I got home... I already have my voucher but he doesn't... I don't think it's anything to worry about, maybe they work backwards on the claims, maybe there is no logic, but don't panic! :)

Thanks :) can you let me know when you get your voucher please?

Just had my first DTD voucher through for £42.68 fom a £44.43 spend! Yay. I want to go and buy more DTD items with it but feel really scared that the cs assistant will question me, call over the manager and generally make a huge fuss causing me major embarassment! lol anybody else feeling like this? Paranoid or what!

make sure you have the reciept that goes with the DTD coupon. all the numbers will tally.

i have only once been asked for the original recipt, but always have them on me just in case.

I feel a rant coming on over peoples concerns over Tesco staff treating these offers/vouchers in store.

    So to answer a few worries;

Can I buy the same items over and over again - yes of course why not?

Will they enforce the £100 limit - not yet clearly or the voucher would not have been issued to you. Maybe in the future they will.

Will the manager be called - why? The only thing that IS seen to be happening is a learning curve by the staff who have never handled this type of voucher. they scan it but have to input the amount on it (hence why you cannot use it on express tills)

What do they do to my original receipt - what they SHOULD do is mark the receipt as 'used' - they SHOULD NOT keep your receipt, as it does not alter the fact that you may need to return a faulty product. Exactly how this should affect your refund I cannot say, if they did it properly they would be able to negate whatever DTD you were given (on THAT item) but really I cannot see them being able to do this.

Can I use my voucher and then input the subsequent purchase receipt into the pricechecker - yes of course. Think of the voucher as your credit/debit card, it's simply a method of payment and in no way says what discounts or offers you are entitled to receive

I know this thread is long, but at least please please read some of it, as I have not seen a 'new' question in 40 pages!!
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing! ;)

Isn't that £3.36 for 6 bottles, not just for one.

Thanks for the reply but would just like to point out that I know I can purchase more DTD items I was just stating the fact that I feel nervous doing it!

It was my friend's that hadn't come through, they just put the details in the website again and the voucher came up :)
Remember the official wait time is 36 hours and Tesco can't do them all at exactly the same time... would be interesting to know what order they process them in... we now know it isn't the order the details were entered online! :)
If a post is helpful to you, please take a second to click "thanks", it makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside! :)

Don't feel nervous, feel elated at getting one over the Big Mr T.

Think of it as payback for them not paying Corporation tax in the UK as they are based in Zug, Switzerland (yeah right !!)

  • Question - Does the voucher go direct to your email or do you have to access it through the Tesco Website.
    Thank you.
