The thing is Mamzie, all comps with an end date are not on the main board, but they are on the regular board.
For example - something for the wickend, its a weekly comp, has an end date each week, but i cannot remember the last time this one was on the main board.
Granny biker put a few monthly comps on the main board with an end date, but when i looked a couple of nights ago, there were far more in the thread than had been posted.
I didnt stay too long on the weekly or monthly stickies tho, as it became apparent very quickly that some of them had either expired, or were one entry and you are entered into all draws, newsletter comps, needed an answer and i didnt have time to look (laziness i know, but i am happy to miss out on a prize for my laziness) or i remembered entering, but couldnt remember when, so didnt want to enter again in case it was recent and i disqualified myself. As they didnt require new answers, there was no bump so i had no way of checking the thanks or entered button to see if i had entered.
This is why i dont go there, and probably why a lot of others dont as well. its also the reason i would like to see them gone and replaced with Newsletters and No End Date - daily comps are obvious, if you havnt entered them that day you are safe to enter again.
I looked at last weeks Loose Women comp that i posted, and it had 975 thanks, with over 2800 views - this means that although 81 people have voted in the poll that is on at the moment, there are a lot who either dont want to vote, dont understand the vote, or dont even know about the vote.
I still maintain that the majority of compers dont have the time that some of us have - they want to come and enter comps and move on. If, or whatever changes are made have to be made thinking about these people as well as the ones who have time to put their opinions into a debate.0 -
Good Idea emiai, Thats another option I could live with, just all dailies on Regs, as they just keep getting i my way when I'm snaplinking, and theres soooo many of them.
Yes there are alot and to post them daily would be simply chaos. xxWishing you all good luck!

Glad has just said the BGs won't make the rules, but I, like you, would be fine if they did.
Re: how many have voted and some not having understood the question, I think that poll will be scrapped and that is why Glad is asking for suggestions again? I've seen comments on both sides saying they wish they'd voted yes/no. Everyone was crying out for Andreas poll and that caused problems because it was unclear, which is why we are back here. Which is why Glad started this thread. She can't do much about the fact that people ignore it or that they don't vote. We can just hope that whoever does comment/vote is a fair representation of opinions that are out there.
My only problem with your suggestion is that I actually find the stickies incredibly useful. Even the weekly & monthly ones. When I'm very short on time they are a much quicker way (for me) to run through a batch of comps than searching through main. I may well be in the minority, in which case I'm fine with it if they go, and I certainly won't be in here moaning if I don't get what I would prefer.
All comps with an end date are already on the main board I think, even if they are regulars? The only ones that aren't are the ones that some people think are/could be deemed ongoing regulars and some people think are single entry comps. It all depends on your personal definition of regular, hence the need for a definition IMHO. Which, along with no duping, and people not being so rude when they disagree, is all I have personally been after since the start.
Hope I've not caused upset with any of the above, really not trying to argue, just to discuss, and to make another view clear to anyone that didn't read back through all the tedium of this thread before the poll. Bowing out now as I've said my bit and I have to work.
Hope everyone has a great day0 -

That could be another way to go - what do we all agree with so far... I think the ones that jump out at me are..
Postal/text/telephone Sticky stays where all of these comps are posted.
Puzzler/TAB threads stay where all of these comps are posted.
Reposting Daily Reg comps every day would not work
Daily Sticky thread linking to Daily Comps Stays
Title Tags work and help people comp???My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly

That because its an Ongoing promotion which has committed to hold a weekly draw, but there is no overall end date, iyswim. A big fear with reposting Ongoing weekly/monthly every week/month on the Main board is that the less popular ones would be moved when expired and get lost in Game Over - but i could live with them on the main Board after One Eye had suggested the solution of list them as E: 99/99 . (I don't say daily because I think everyone is agreed reposting these every 24 hours would not work)

Yes, im in agreement with all those
What about the monthly/weekly stickies - my choice would be get rid, but what about everyone else?0 -
I know I said I wasn't going to butt in again, but have just had a thought about the E: 99/99 tag... Won't that mean the comp will just sink down the board with no reminder to enter it each month unless it's bumped? If I've misunderstood, please accept my apologies, just trying to be clear....
From what folk are saying here, (and in PMs) they'd prefer the weekly / monthly entry (ongoing) comps posted each month on main as they used to be.
 Yes Comping cat, I remember when I first started here, the 1st of the month could be hectic ! It always had a couple of extra pages on newly posted comps! It was really busy for "As posted" enterers, but we worked round it, simply making a note of where we left off if we didn't get up-to-date by bedtime!
Worse things will have happened in the world today..."The only thing that really matters, it to love and to be loved."0 -
The E:99/99 was suggested so Ongoing comps with No End Dates could move over to main. You could find them via Search or by using the display options, but there would be no chance of losing less popular comps into Game Over or forgetting to repost them.
If you were unsure if you'd entered for that month, someone suggested that you can check the date of you thanks, if you unthanked then hit thanks again, the date would update.
(see you all later, as we are at hospital soon for my oldest dd's reg check up)My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly

umm if weekly and monthly comps have always been on main board in new threads each week why have those stickies been in existance for years with threads linked in them?
those threads, and ongoing threads have been used as long as i have been comping, its only been over the past 8-12 months that lots of them started being duped on main. some comps have been posted each w/m yes, but not all!
there is not much glad can do if people wont read and/or vote. there is not much she can do if the other bgs choose not to joinin the discussion or elaborate on their comments to explain what they mean.
ive said before and i will say again, i love the stickies, i love the ongoing thread sbut if its decided to do away with them completely then ill accept that im going to miss a heck of a lot more regular comps because i dont get time to work through all the end date comps that day or because they get forgotten *shrugs* it will be my responsibility.
also said before just put everything on main, make exceptions for the tab and puzzler threads and for postal threads. id agree its stupid to have dailies new each day, but it gets complicated if we try to make that an exception, because some want them every day as new threads too and some dont, some are posted both way currently though the majority are ongoing threads. though after a few weeks of every thing else being on main as new im sure we will have many people start duping dailies in the same way they have done w/m threads because they want them on main as new too.....so be it! we can always re look at how its working after a trial period and maybe then we will get more people willing to join in and at least vote on something than we are now.0 -

Also in agreement with Mazmies sum up of what we can actually agree on
Re: stickies my preference would be that both stay, at least for some comps - I wasn't here when they were introduced but feel it must have been for a reason?
For that reason alone I think if the majority want it the same as you it may be better a bit like Glads poll option 2) than jumping in with both feet and getting it totally wrong again2. dailies and weeklies as above (with an option to look at weeklies after a trial period) and reg monthlies posted each month on main board0
