It might sound like a daft question but how do I rid my laptop of Norton completely when it does expire, what is the quickest/ easiest way to do this for an amateur like me, going by what I've read on here its a pain - is that true - are they deliberately making it hard to uninstall Norton and all its components so that you renew your subcription, or is that my opinion - true or not. I think the techie stuff is great and the people on it know what they are talking about and what is even better is the way you are willing to explain in detail how to do things as we are not all techies, its a great way to learn though. Thanks again steve
I've only removed Norton once and it wasn't too bad. I just had to keep going into Add/Remove programs and deleting all the extra stuff they there like the Live Updating app.
It's only when you have a problem with an app that you learn about it so I don't have too much experience with Norton. I believe that they have tools on their website to help if the uninstall goes wrong, but once again I've never had to.0 -

I haven't heard anything that suggests it's particularly special in the anti-virus market. Perhaps someone else knows.0 -
As Spybot S&D is Anti-spy, would I need another on anyway? I tend to run the ones I have about once a week, AVG & Defender run auto dailyDon`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0

if you want an active shield that alerts you to suspicious behaviour, for 60 days and automatic updates for 60 days, go for it.
some catch threats that others dont0
