Grattan/Freemans must still be making money at £99 for them still to be taking orders. Mr Samsung is rubbing his hands with glee too.0

Can't believe this...
I rang yesterday afternoon about 3pm to order one. They would not give me any discount at all unless I set up as an agency. I couldn't be bothered so said I was not interested as I didn't want to spend a £100 on the phone but was quite prepared to spend £80 thinking I was a new customer - so I asked not to proceed.
Blow me I gets home from work and the phone is here... Even though I don't want the phone I can't fault the service... I didn't give any CC details but I note the Delivery note says value £99.99 with 20 weeks interest free.
What I can't decide is whether to try and kick up a fuss and see if I can get any discount, keep the phone regardless, sell on ebay or return (which I have to 7th Dec to decide !)0 -
Wow, thanks OP, mine has just arrived.
I'm sure this has been asked but is it unlocked already or do I have to have it done?
Thanks ant.0 -

Oh don't worry, my guess is that they have seen the potential of treating these as a loss leader, think about it, how many new accounts have been opened?.
They will still be making a profit on these items, so its good very business for them and excellent publicity and goodwill.0 -
Can I ask which delivery company was used0

I very much doubt it, if the market price for these is £150, then they will not be making anything at £99. You can then take off £6 for Quidco, making it £93, plus a lot of people will have managed to use a code getting it done to an average selling price of about £90, assuming some did not use a code successfully or Quidco. The've got to pay for the delivery too. Plus some people will take it on the interest free payments, which they have to fund as well.
There isn't that sort of mark up, if there was, people with lower overheads would undercut them.
My view is that, it is on the run up to Christmas, it is their mistake in their catologue and they have decided they don't want the bad publicity. They'll take a hit, hopefully get some new customers and a bit of good PR in the run up to Christmas period.0
