Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Saturday 13th March. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread.
This is ridiculous - me starting the thread 3 times in a row? Must be the children. When I hear them up, I get up as I don't want the house trashed!! Dogs have been out in the garden, boys playing happily (for now!!!) on the DS. Last night had a "discussion" with OH (he's at his mums as she's ill) about him getting a job. He put the phone down on me - GRRRRRRR:mad: So decided that I wasn't going to help him anymore with this - he can **** well do it himself. He's never even said so much as thank you for getting him where he is - CV written, contacts made with agencies, still on the PCT list.
Rant over!!!! Will be using up my energy with the boys this morning cleaning and tidying the house. Managed to list what was in the freezer yesterday so tonight the boys will have chicken nuggets (to use them up) and I'll have chilli & rice I think! Yum.
So sad and horrifying to see the pictures of what is happening in Japan. I really feel for them. The pictures just take your breath away. Seems that most of the area hit by the Tsunami was farmland. Wonder what this will do for the price of food? Love and hugs to anyone affected by this horrific disaster.

Good morning esmf and all to follow,
Didn't catch up with the rest of the thread yesterday.
DD1 and family will be here within the hour. We will look after DGS and cook while the rest are busy.
Dinner will be Thai chicken curry with green beans and sweetcorn - just remembered to put fresh corriander on the shopping list for later.
There is no rain forecast, so I intend to strip the visitor's beds and wash their bedding and towels.
Hopefully I will get my rear in gear to do some de-cluttering (I think this might take years!)
Must also do some planning for next week,
Hugs for those that need or want them,
Happy Saturday, Cheers Silver x
Just heard that more than 1,300 people are thought to have died in Japan, most drowned by the tsunami. Mega prayers and thoughts for the victims and survivors. Luckily I've heard from my friend & she and her family are safe.Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Morning all
BB did I see you had a job interview? Hope it went well.
I've been up since 5:30, pottering quietly so as not to wake hubby as he had a bad night.
I made a huge slab of chocolate brownies yesterday, I took some to work for my colleagues, so did hubby & there is still plenty left for tomorrow when the in-laws visit.
Today I shall be doing housework ready for the in-laws visit & doing a couple of loads of washing, I'm hoping it will stay dry enough to line dry.
Hubby & I are off out to a wedding reception this evening, so that should be fun.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Just a quick good morning from me, just sitting in bed with tea.
Working today but should be home by 330pm. Not a huge amount of OS therefore although HM dinner for a friends birthday. Chicken wrapped in bacon, mushroom risotto, broccoli and charred yellow pepper; plus strawberry shortcake
It'll have to be an OS catch up tomorrow!

Morning my lovelies

Attempted to get my wedding, engagement ring and eternity rings off. Can't at the moment fingers are swollen that much  Even tried fairy liq no joy. Need to have some brekkie so I can have some pain killers to start the day with.
Off to see a friend this morning, H is working again so probably doing naff all today
Need to make a loaf, think I will attempt wholemeal today, my very first try
My mum and dad came round for tea last night. OK not MSE we had fish and chips from the chippie but since it's my birthday on Monday rather than us order in pizza or something the one I made for the kids last night I thought was better than from a shop I might just make some pizza and spend a bit more on some decent topping ie mozzarella instead of cheddar etc.
Need to pop to shops as DS wanted to make me a cake last week so fancy something involving nutella <drools> so need to pop to Sainsbugs and get some bits for that.
Cloudy and dull here, looks like rain so any washing will have to be indoors
No idea about tea, will decide later. Really need to start using more of my meat from the freezer, bit limiting with H only eating chicken, bacon or low fat sausages all the time.......need to use a bit more mince, pork and beef that I've got in there.
Sorry been rambling on and on

esmf - Hugs for you lovey xx
Hester - enjoy your night out
Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Morning all
I'm feeling a bit more human today
and look less like a hamster :rotfl: although sadly not enough to go on my date tonight so will have to reschedule
. Facial swelling has gone down loads, but I do now have a huge lump on my gum which I think will make eating hard today. I slept for quiet a bit last night too, I woke maybe 3 times for 30-60 mins each but the sleep I had was good. Hopefully I'll be ok by tomorrow as I'm meant to be going for an early birthday lunch with the girls to a fab new restaurant.
Plans for the day? Well I feel a bit cabin fever-ish so want to get out. Even if it's just for a walk by the sea.
OS wise - laundry needs putting away, DW will go on overnight, lunch will probably be soup from freezer, quick tidy, kitchen needs wipe over
Have a good day all

Morning all!
Fairly quiet day here today. Sauce for cous cous was started and in the SC by about 7! DD2 fell asleep last night as we were all watching the final of Junior Masterchef Australia.........unbelievable what those kids could do!!! Because she had a busy day yesterday, and fell asleep at about 9.30 last night, I expected her to sleep til at least 9. No such luck! I woke at 5am and was reading trying to get myself back over, nearly there, and LO woke up at 5.45 for a wee, and I put her in bed with me for a cuddle, hoping she would drop off again. Nope! After about a half hour of wriggling, we had to get up! Hopefully, she can go out with her dad and DD! to football this morning, run around lots, park this afternoon, then she should be in bed by about 7 pm.
While dh and kids at football this morning, I have to go and look at toilet cisterns!!!!! Lovely! But we do need a new one.
Cous cous for lunch and prawn stir fry for tea.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I've spent far too many early mornings hoping for the same and it's NEVER worked
Redruby - Hope DD enjoys her trial today
