According to a few other forums 01392 686000 is a cold-calling spamming business called The Money Club.

Don't touch them with a barge pole.

Scammers who sell you a subscription-based shopping discount memebership

I think they may get your number if you have used price drop/bid tv

my Aunt ended up £99.99 out of pocket from this company after using Price drop tv.

Got to speak to them today when they rang and I told them I wasn't interested and please take me off the database. The lady said its the money club though did you know that and I said yes I know and I'm not interested. She asked if I had been called before and I told her lots of times, she sounded like she knew and she did seem nice and said she had taken my number out of the database right then. They just work for them I guess, she didn't sound too happy in her work anyway I kind of felt sorry for her. Anyway no calls since then and that was this morning.
    Thanx

When they ring up, just tell them to F@@K OFF!

Be as rude as possible. It's what they deserve.

    And your point is?

Cold callers from this sort of company deserve a mouthful of abuse.

If the telephone operators don't like it, they should work for a respectable company instead.

  • I've been registered with the Telephone Preference Service for 4 years and by law anyone so registered cannot be called by a marketing company etc. This didn't deter one company called Resource Handling Limited from Glasgow using a silent dialler to call me whenever they felt like it. The number was 08001830143, I trawled the internet for the culprit and found this useful site. http://www.snozwangler.com They have a search box, you type in the number and they tell you who it is, I sent them a strongly worded email and I got a positive resonse, there are literally thousands of numbers on here, your problem number may well be listed here.
  • Just thought i'd let people know the tps does not apply to people calling internationally. I had 18 months of fone calls from 8 am until 10pm,- sometimes just 10 mins apart, I asked them to stop contacting me and remove my number- they never did. It came to ahead when after being kept awake by a new baby and them calling at all hours i did tell them to f**k off, to be then called a f******g stupid b***h, i hung up and he stayed on the line and would not hang up. Everytime i tried to call bt he was still hanging on throwing insults at me. My OH had to come on and face the abuse before he got bored and hung up. BT advised it was due to call centres being moved to India and such other international bases, they are unable to do anything, I had to change my number, have caller id and never answer private, 0870 or any such numbers.
  • Perhaps we should get on to our MP's, why should a UK based company escape UK law simply by outsourcing to India, it seems ridiculous to me.

I don't like being rude to anyone rolleyes.gif, so I joined the TPS. If anyone calls now (they still do occasionally) I just repeatedly say "I'm sorry I don't speak English". If they get annoyed or rude just laugh at them, it's not your fault they re-introduced care in the community.
You can't go wrong with carpet bombing...
  • This seems to be being overlooked, the sole purpose of my registering with the TPS and being ex-directory is so that I am not disturbed full stop, I'm sure I am not alone.
I give my number freely to people I can trust and will not to abuse that.

Further to this I have been on the Ofcom webite and here is how they view offshore outsourcing of callcentres.
Ofcom will take action against any organisation with a UK presence on whose behalf calls are made from an offshore centre where those calls constitute acts of persistent misuse.
So you can do something about it.
