t-mobile - no Signal.
firstly - greetings! New to this forum.
7months ago i entered into a 24month contract with t-mobile.
Everything was fine. Being an avid facebooker / app downloader i opted for an android (not an apple fan), therefore it was quite a pricey plan.
I moved home at the beginning of February, and as you can imagine, you don't plan your family home around your network provider..
The same day my signal disappeared completely.
I didn't waste anytime in calling. I spoke to a rather (un)helpful woman who told md there was a fault in the area and to call back on Monday when she reckoned the problem would be fixed.
After a week of dangling out windows or standing in the freezing cold to answer calls, she never rang back. So slightly frustrated i rang them on the Monday. The man i spoke to put me through to a technician. He told me the usual stuff - turn phone off/on, remove simcard/battery, trying using 2G network, try using data roaming.
In the end nothing worked. He told us to go into the store and check their street coverage.
After spending 3days instore and the very helpful (and probably scarred for life) sales team said there was nothing they could do, after checking the phone for faults/updates the only suggestion they could make was to ring back and be persistent.
After two more weeks of people hanging up/never calling back - we got to where we are now, a new simcard later and out of patience.
Nothing has worked. I requested a coverage check before i moved and everything was hunky doory.
I have gone as far as calling maintenance on the apartment building and asking if there's anything that could possibly be blocking my signal.
I pay for a service i don't receive.
I can't receive calls unless i dangle from a window or walk for five minutes.
I can't receive text unless i turn my phone off/on.
The app market barely works, and when it does its slow and constantly brings up Never message telling me there's no data connection.
Apart from the fact i don't want to pay £500 termination fee, i don't really feel i should have to.
Any help/personal experience would be much appreciated.

My understanding is that the consensus at this forum is that poor signal after moving house cannot be a ground for demanding to terminate the contract earlier without fee. You can only ask them to reduce the monthly cost or the fee, but they are not obliged to do this.0

Have you tried the sharing Orange's signal thing?0
-
Does your phone get a signal and is able to make/receive calls/texts elsewhere?0
-
Your stuck as far as the contract goes, you moved house, TMobile didnt move your signal, they didnt change any terms of the contract, you'll just have to take it as a lesson learned0

T-Mobile and Orange are now sharing masts, but are you still having issues?
Another case to argue is, that besides moving house, it's not like you have gone to another country. The network provider are not providing you with the service you are paying for. That would be my argument. Why pay for something you are now longer getting. The least they should do, being polite and helpful, is look into the complaint. Already mentioned, if that fails, get a reduction in price.0 -

No networks offers to provide 100% geographical coverage nor do you contract them for 100% coverage. How are T-Mobile responsible if the OP chooses to move to an area with no coverage. They didn't move him the OP chose to move to this area of their own will.
T-Mobile still offer the same geographical coverage they did when the OP contracted them for their services. My farts hospitalize small children0 -
"everything everywhere" is orange and t-mobiles shared signal.
I am already using that as Soley t-mobile signal does not work at all. AT ALL.
On orange t-mobile i just about get signal. If i get more than three bars its a happy day.
They gave me £10 off my last bill.. Then charged me the full amount anyway.
As far as t-mobile "not moving my signal".
i moved home yes Im aware, how naughty of me. But as i stated, Im not going to choose where i live depending on a network. "Mobile" Thats the idea.
There is a mast less than 10 minutes walk from me that has been serviced and according to t-mobile themselves works fine.
So tell me, why doesn't it work?0 -

No one has asked you to choose where you live based on your mobile signal. But you can't have your cake and eat it either. Nor can you blame your service provider for your choices. My farts hospitalize small children0 -
- Three bars is not that bad.
- No network guarantees you 100% coverage over UK wherever you decide to move, particularly indoors.
- If you don't like it, there are loads of good PAYG or 30-day deals around. Just pay for the phone you want upfront instead of spreading the cost over 24 months.
- It is very hard to believe that 7 months ago you were not even thinking about moving. If you were, it was very naive to assume that the network would easily terminate the contract after subsidising your new phone.

We're only giving you the facts, I could say that they'll let you out the contract for free and let you keep your expensive phone too but thats not how it is. As for the nearest mast, well it could be in your back garden but if its facing in the opposite direction to you it's as good as useless0
