morning all!
havent seen the news about Japan yet, hope it's not too bad.
Bitsy - hope your hands/arms feel better soon x
Off to work later 1pm till 10pm, have managed to get somebody to cover my slep-in so then I'm home and off for the weekend:j I get every other weekend off so really look forward to them. My friend and her son and coming to stop Saturday night as they're off to a wedding nearby so I'm looking forward to catching up with her as she moved away a few years ago.
Looks like a lovely day here today:j forst load of washing hung out, second lot just spinning.
Have cleaned downstairs, mopped the floors just need to vac my bedroom now. Guest beds changed.
DH is cooking some pie and mash for their dinner, DSs GF is coming over. My tea is at work.
The cuts are showing at work - the food budget has been cut by £30 a week. This should be manaageable as we were getting £230.00 a week to feed 5 service users and as many staff. We usually have money left over as I do most of the shopping and I'm very careful to get all the bogofs and reduced stuff!:money: The boss wants us to start using Aldi's a bit more too. I'm up for the challenge of making sure we all eat well for less:)
Hop eveyone has a great day, take care all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning everyone!
The sun is shining here and I'm busy looking around the house for something big to wash cos it seems a waste of good weather if I don't. Definitely got that 'spring clean' feeling going on - going to attack my bedroom later and do an inventory of my food stores (under the dressing table and in the bottom of the wardrobe - my kitchen is tiny).
Hugs to all.

Morning All,
Terrible news about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, I hope Marie and Gintot's extended families are safe and well.
Bitsy my boys had slapped cheek when they were wee - they caught everything going, poor souls. hope you all start to feel better soon. xxx
Flutterby I hope you are feeling better and get some relief today at the dentist. Good luck. xxx
DS2 is still feeling dizzy, so he's here with me again today. My car has gone in to the garage, there's a belt squealing like mad and a funny vibrating noise, so hopefully he'll sort that out quick smart and cheaply, it needs to go to the dealer garage next week for other work, and the MOT the week after  Ds being at home has meant I had to delay returning to my voluntary job today, shich I am really disappointed about, I have been so looking forward to it. It will wait til next week though
Mount Washmore to be tackled today, the floors need cleaning and the bathroom and toilet, I have been a non FLying Flylady this week
Have a good day, hugs spoons and hi fives where needed.

, have a 10% off voucher
. DS4 still off poorly so not sure if he will be coming but I doubt it so may see if my nephew will come and keep an eye on him if he doesnt want to come.I know he is 14 but dont like leaving him when he is under the weather . Am going to sort out my wardrobe today as havent done it in ages and I know I have stuff in there that are too big as have slowly managed to loose a couple of stone in weight over the past 3 months mainly down to when I was ill over christmas and new year. Will bag it up as to either throw away, use as cleaning cloths or to go off to charity shop. Take care everyone hugs for all:) Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -
Morning all:D
Will be glad when this week is over:eek:its been stressful.
DS off to school so will clean through the house today and change the beds and catch up with any ironing.
He is off to his dads tonight till Sun morning. He has been crying last night and this morning not wanting to go as he misses me too much:(. It makes me feel terrible....I hate the thought of him being at his dads and being upset and just wanting to be home. I cant do anything about it though, it is his dad and DS is only 7 and cant lay down the law about not going.
He is supposed to go to Scarborough with his dad for 5 days in the summer and he is now saying he isnt going.
His dad is a decent bloke but very different from me.....not very demonstrative or cuddly with DS and quite stand offish in a way. He went to a boys private school and the stiff upper lip attitude really shows. I think thats what DS finds hard as we are always having cuddles and kisses and he misses that when he is there.
I have to just tell myself he is safe and force myself to enjoy the time off and recharge:o
I am going to look at Melatonin for DS as even though he has set bedtimes he doesnt get to sleep till very very late most nights and is then up very early and he must be overtired all the time.
i was making a chickpea and spinach curry for our tea but am being tempted to get cheap takeaway as DH and I are shattered and I feel like a night off.....but feel guilty about the money as I do want the debts gone asap:o
Bitsy dont worry too much about slapped cheek disease.....it prob is that ( although its a bit early in the year) but you wont need treatment or anything, it is viral and not infectious once rash starts. BTW if you have been googling it you may have seen it is a parvovirus...this isnt the same as cats get so dont worry about Mia;)
Sistercas hope everything is ok with your job:o
thoughts are with those in Japan and hoping there are no more events x0 -

Hello chums well I managed to get through the meal without crowning my ex son-in-law.I haven't seen him for 7 years and he is still the obnoxious pig he always has been.Still both DD and I grinned and bore it as it was DGD's day .She had a lovely time and her boyfriend parents seem to be a lovely couple.Tom the boyfriend is a lovely chap and adores my DGD so that makes him good in my book. The little boys were brilliant and behave excellantly even though we had to wait ages for our food .I've just done the school run and now am indoors until late Sunday afternoon so I am just going to potter around and catch up on t.v.,knitting and maybe a bit of Uni work.No shopping to get at all as I can play freezer roulette for several week as I have quite a full freezer still and I do want to work it down a bit.Plus of course I can save my pennies for my forthcoming spring holiday.Only three weeks tomorrow ,fingers crossed the weather warms up a bit.Its very bright and sunny here in north Kent but the wind is still very biting at the moment .I have a knitted blanket in my washing machine at the moment its my DGS and I promised I would give it a soft 'wooly wash' for him Its his Chelsea football blnket that I knitted for him so its one of his precious possessions.
Right I'm off to sort out a cuppa and then do some of my accounts.Have a good day everyone
Cheers JackieO xx
P.S. my thoughts are with those poor folk in Japan the news is awful to see your whole life swept away must be devastating, please god not too many have lost their lives as well.0 -
Watching the news about the quake. Just had porridge and washing on. Will put it out today not a bad day. Shower, housework, normal stuff. Playing sport tonight. Yay.:footie:0

EG - hope you get your nap and that you find plenty of loos - all night supermarkets are often useful!
JackieO - please please adopt me! Sounds like you all had a fab celebration meal, and at least the obnoxious one is an ex! Now after reading your post I want to knit something, I can feel a blankie for spud coming on - a trip to the wool shop whilst I'm in town methinks!
NPM - try not to worry too much, I know that every child is different, but mine moan sometimes about going to see their dad, and it's nothing to do with wanting to be with me or not wanting to visit him, it's the disruption to their routine! Coupled with the fact they have a 3hr journey each way, which is fairly boring, and also means that they can't escape either mine or their dad's nosy questions lol! I am however in a slight stew about the idea of babydaddy being handed Spud, when he or she arrives - oh the joys of having a baby with someone that you aren't together with!
Right had best get on, now have a fab recipe for chinese chicken via ChocClare on the tough times thread, so that's dinner taken care of today - menu plan just had chicken on it for tonight! And will be choosing some wool to knit this blankie with, roll on this evening: Gardeners' World, knitting and an early night - Friday is fun night! xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
