Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday :j 12thMarch. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread.

Couldn't believe that no one else started the thread - feel free to move if you need to BG!!! Gorgeous day outside the window - but I understand that the North is due to get more snow. Not great - but will start battening down the hatches this morning. Today is a day of cleaning - yesterday was clearing, today is cleaning and finishing off. As son as the boys come home from school I can start the washing so we're ready for next week. Didn't freezer dive yesterday so must do that today. Got some Marmade to make Marmalade with, so will be doing that today too. Have loads of jars saved. Might add a dash of whiskey to it - any other suggestions?

Lots to do, not much time to do it in, if I spend it all on here - its addictive you know !!! Have a lovely day everyone - and have hugs and good feeling vibes xxx
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Blue sky here today with a few fluffy white clouds scattered about, I hope it stays dry today.
MIL & FIL announced their intention of visiting on Sunday at 11, they are bringing BIL with them, I wonder what crisis has hit now? I'm sort of expecting BIL to go through a series of crisis as the wedding approaches. I can see me HAVING WORDS if he decides he needs to centre of attention on the day. Still he's got 3 months to get everything out of his system so fingers crossed.
Time I set off for work, chores are all done.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Good Morning All

Didn't get on here yesterday, got caught up with work calls first thing.

Have a medium sized office to do list, need to pick up DS from school at lunchtime and then try and nap this afternoon as have got to work tonight. 10pm-7am  need to go out with a driver that doesn't know the run very well. Will be living on black coffee then dealing with the problem that whatever goes in needs to come back out at some point (not many toilets around in the middle of the night) :rotfl:

Not sure what is for dinner, I did pick up some pork snitchzel (sp) from Aldi the other day so may well be that.

Redruby - haven't seen the news this morning - will go look now.

    Have a good Friday.x

Good morning Esmf, Sistercas, Redruby and all to follow,
Showered and just putting myself outside a coffee. Will be off to work in a little while. So not much flying going on here.
The earthquake in North-East Japan sounds like a huge one and i heard that a second tsunami was striking with a third following close behind. Those poor, poor people. I think it is a farming community, so not a particularly wealthy area. They are in my thoughts and prayers.
OS wise I shall heat up some hm moussaka from the freezer. This was going to be dinner for OH and me, but plans changed. Dinner now is going to be steak & hm peppercorn sauce for DH, DD1 and me, the boys will have sausages (which they prefer).
Will try to catch up later,
    Happy Friday peeps,
Hugs to those who need or want, Silver x

    Morning all

Just caught the news, the people in Japan are in my thoughts and prayers x

Dry, bright but chilly here this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Got up just after 5.30am and went for a jog, warmed up really well, did warm up routine from my fitness dvd then went for run, leg aching again so cut run short and just some abdominal work from dvd at home. Getting a bit fed up with this now as some days it's perfectly ok and others it's not. Will keep plodding along.

Had a telephone call to book my first therapy assessment session, so that is booked for next Friday so hoping this will bring me some peace. Had a productive day yesterday, housework done, all the washing that I managed to line dry (weather here this week has been excellent, sunny and a bit blowy but only rained very briefly and lightly last night at 6pm) has been ironed. Now have WM on with boys bedding in, another load is ready to go out on the line in a mo.

Dentist was no where near as bad as I expected, Dentist is very good, he numbed me very well, although I looked a bit of a sight when I came out, face was a bit lopsided, looked like I'd got a bit of a fat lip! But soon wore off and he did say there's no way he would have ben able to do what he did without injections. Don't have any discomfort this morning either!

Will be heading to the scales shortly, think I've stayed the same again but TOTM started yesterday and was a week late so that could effect the reading. (Sorry if TMI so early!)

Will be going to the bank, then shopping, have a few jobs to do at home, want to get our bed stripped, washed, line dried etc whilst the weather is good. Will be baking/cooking later and trying to work my way through the piles of paperwork on my computer desk, won't be able to see the screen soon if I don't!

Have a good Friday and weekend everyone.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Morning All,

Thoughts and prayers with those poor people in Japan
Sistercas I too watched the comic relief programme, it really makes you count your blessings, they really do live hand to mouth.

Hoping for a quiet day today. We have a busy wkend. Feeling exhausted just thinking about it. Not had my usual visit this month and that combined with the hot flushes makes me wonder if its that time in my life. Think I probably need to visit the doctor. (sorry tmi very early)

Out with friends tonight, haven't got a clue what to wear but I am sure I have something in the back of the closet which really needs a sort out.

Once I have tidies round and put a wash on I will be sitting and reading my book, just feel like that today. No tea to prepare tonight so that's good.

Off to put my lottery on, fingers crossed , Have a good Friday everyone J x

    Morning my lovelies :D

Just watched the footage of the tsunami. Gives me chills :( I hope there isn't much loss of life :(

Got to ring the Dr's this morning. My wrists and fingers are bit swollen, ankles stiff and bit swollen. DD still has her rash and her cheeks are bright red. So googled Slapped Cheek Syndrome and in adults it can cause stiffness in joints, although this affects only 1 in 10. Symptoms fit for me and the kids but want to get it seen just to make sure.

H working late tonight so makeshift for tea. Have some lasagne portions in the freezer so might have some of that with salad.

Not much OS going on today as I can't move my hands or wrist every well. H had to do up my bra for me because I couldn't get my arms round the back

Have a great Friday everyone OS or not.

Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Gosh my fingers and wrists ache just trying to type that :(

    Morning All ,

Just saw the news about Japan before I came to work. Terrifying isn't it? A stark reminder that no matter how powerful man is, mother nature can wipe him out on a whim. I dread to think of what those poor people must be going through.

Didn't manage to post yesterday so I hope everyone is well. I was too busy being poked and prodded for another check-up. Turns out that I have low blood pressure which is what is causing the dizziness. And when I told the midwife about my ankles and fingers swelling, miraculously, it had disappeared just to make me look like a liar I guess :D So no, pre-eclampsia, blood pressure "on the low side of normal" and baby already assuming the position with head firmly down  Good news in all.

OS wise, I seem to have a rather full washing basket - how I'm not entirely sure - so I'l do something about that when I get in. Not sure on tea tonight just yet.

Hugs to all in need/want xx

    Morning all!

Been watching the news, how awful for the people of Japan and the Pacific coast.

Sun is shining brightly here and the birds are twittering away like mad, so hopefully it's a sign that spring is on its way at last!

OS stuff will involve a good clean through, as I'm off work today, yippee! Also need to nip into town to move some money from building soc to bank ready to pay for flooring hopefully, and must remember to get deodorant for the girls - bulk buying is all well and good, but tis a bit of a surprise when you then run out, would probably help if anyone told me when they took the last one!

This afternoon the skirting boards beckon, ds and I shall be prying them from the walls without causing too much damage I hope! And if the weather continues like this I hope to get into the garden over the weekend. Uh oh, weather peeps are going on about snow, all over the north and NI, hopefully it won't last and won't reach the south west!

Hope everyone has a good day xx
