Will the changes count here though as her middle child must be in reciept of DLA Care at either the middle or higher rate as she gets Carer's Allowance.
If I'm correct then there should be no deductions in housing benefit for a nondependant adult whether working or not, unsure of other benefits though.
It's the 2nd child who the dlac is for. There will still be a charge.
The claimant or partner need to be in receipt of dla care at any rate or attendance allowance for there to be no nondep charge0 -
This isnt a dig at anyone, but.................Jesus Christ! Benefits are well paid arent they! almost 2.5k a month to NOT work? Its not the people who are on benefits that are living in poverty thats for sure.
I am completely stunned that people on benefits are living in comparitive luxury to some who are working. wowThe opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
I have just shown this thread to a friend, and she was as flabbergasted as I am, but pointed out that the almost 2.5k a month does not include the other things she will get for free such as:-
Council tax
Free school dinners
Free opticians
Free dentists
Free prescriptionsThe opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
God she's off on one again, you did notice that the OP has a disabled child. This isnt a dig at anyone, but.................Jesus Christ! Benefits are well paid arent they! almost 2.5k a month to NOT work? Its not the people who are on benefits that are living in poverty thats for sure.

I'm pretty sure she would swap her benefit entitlement for a non disabled child.*SIGH*

And the pleasure of being called scroungers, dole mongers, fakes etc etc by the Daily Mail readers of this world.
I would swap my disability, my husband's wheelchair, my son's aspergers AND my daughter's epilepsy to be able to give up struggling as self employed and for the two of us to be able to go out to work full-time and not face abuse from people who assume that we are scroungers and "living it up" because every person on DLA has a 50" plasma screen TV, Mercedes and holidays in Barbados every year don't they!
Reality check...Life is damned hard when there are disabled family members and NO amount of money can compensate!
The impossible we can do at once but miracles take longer!

I am not just sure, i KNOW she would DX2, but unfortunately that is not a possibility - so what is your point?
I stand by my point, benefits are extremely well paid - ALL benefits are.
People who go to work, don't get a wage increase if they happen to have a child with a disibility or even an extra ten healthy children, whatever, no personal circumstance change is going to make their wages shoot up. However, if you are on benefits, have another child - healthy or otherwise - and your money shoots up.The opposite of what you know...is also true0 -

Tax credits, child benefit, DLA for disabled child, housing benefit for dependants of they rent etc etc. These are IN WORK benefits as well as OUT OF WORK.
If you noticed, her partner (children's father) has a mental illness, these can strike ANYONE at ANYTIME.
Shock horror but some people have children, can afford to feed, cloth, house them and THEN find themselves out of work, disabled, with a broken relationship etc. Not everyone on benefits have kids to get more money some were never on benefits at the time!!
Let's hope neither you or your friend are left in this situation!0 -

I realise people can find themselves in all sorts of awful situations however best their intentions of any kind may well have been. - That is not the point I was making. Never mind...The opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
People who work who have a disabled child would get exactly the same child releated benefits as the OP. The OP doesn't work and get CA which equals £53.90 per week hardly a huge wage there nowPeople who go to work, don't get a wage increase if they happen to have a child with a disibility or even an extra ten healthy children, whatever, no personal circumstance change is going to make their wages shoot up. The point that you were trying to make was utter disgust, let's not pretend otherwise. How dare the OP so get all these disability related benefits whilst you have to work.I realise people can find themselves in all sorts of awful situations however best their intentions of any kind may well have been. - That is not the point I was making.
