Go back to the agent and tell him, wonder how many others he has told the wrong info too, and stressed them out and worried them unnecessarily

He is lying, obviously doesn't know what he is talking about. You will have no change as I said above. No deduction until he reaches 25 when claiming jsa. The lha rate will not change at all

Sorry one more thing regarding housing benefit/council tax, what happens when he comes of JSA and gets a full time job as he is desperate to get into work?

    Sorry for being a pain.

Are you definately sure there are no HB changes that affect you? I ask because of the move from calculating LHA rates, moving them from being based on the median rents in the local area to the bottom third. This is known as the change from the 50th percentile to the 30th percentile and it kicks in after Oct 11

    Thanks Pandaspot:)

Looks like when my son gets work the:

HB would be: - gross income not less than £122.00 but less than £180.00 = £21.55 from April 2011

    and

CTB would be: - gross income not less than £180.00 but less than £310.00 = £5.70 from April 2011

This is based on him getting minimum wage.

Also looks like when my partner moves in he would also have to pay HB as he is on :In receipt of main phase Employment & Support Allowance (Income Related) = £9.40 from April 2011 but does not have to pay CTB

Also are them figures above weekly.

    Does this sound right?

Will the changes count here though as her middle child must be in reciept of DLA Care at either the middle or higher rate as she gets Carer's Allowance.

If I'm correct then there should be no deductions in housing benefit for a nondependant adult whether working or not, unsure of other benefits though.

You will have 9 months transitional protection after you anniversary date. So your lha rate won't change till may 2012

i thought it was just if the tenant or their partner received DLA?
my daughter didn't get any HB/CTB when she was receiving hrc/hrm for her son.
    but....she was working.

it says that you don't have a non dependant deduction from hb/ctb if you receive dla.
a child would have no dependants or non dependants if you understand what i mean.

hope it makes more sense to you than it does to me lol
