PLEASE DO NOT TURN THIS INTO A SLANGING MATCH!
Debate is fine. Evidence is fine. Individual circumstances is IRRELEVANT (that's you Conrad).
Keep it to the topic and tasteful people! Agree/disagree with it's findings/reasonings etc. Couldn't give a flying f*ck about individual properties or finances as it doesn't mean sh*t to me. Only the macro matters until your actually buying your property.Hope For The Best, Plan For The Worst0 -
How about a 4 bed semi for less than £60K?

The only snag being it's in Benchill (Manchester) - the most deprived ward in England.0 -
So 85k of loan needed.
Basically you are saying people with a household income of less than 21k shouldnt apply?
Or shouldn't be allowed to have kids?
Lovely.
Nowhere did I say this.
I can find loads of properties to suit that salary. In any event, my Dad was on a low salary and it was tough, so what?
They found a way rather that sat about whinging.0 -
All nonsense words.
FTB can buy property all over the UK, with some sacrifice for some people, and??
Can you show me a county where FTB cannot buy?
Oh, and I'll pst piccies if I want, but thanks for the advice eh!
I'm not, nor is this article saying that ALL FTBs cannot buy. Your missing the point and the article entirely.
On AVERAGE, let me repeat that again, on AVERAGE FTBs cannot buy in a macro term. If you are willing to provide links to evidence the incorrectness of this article asserting such a statement I'd be interested and willing to listen.
Otherwise you all personal opinion - which as we have already established is a micro (individual) basis and thus BIAS and IRRELEVANT for the topic of discussion.Hope For The Best, Plan For The Worst0 -
uh huh.
Crisis over, clearly.
Why can't FTB, especially couples manage to save like I did, and find a location to suit like I did?
I know Poles who came here not long ago and have bought homes - why cant others?
Plenty of people do extra work on the side to save a deposit - and?
I cabby I know has a full time day job yet cabs at weekends and Fri night to get his deposit - where's the problem? Scared of hard work?0 -
hah, I love it when people can't see past the decoration of a place.
Friend of mine bought an UTTER wreck, my favourite bit about it was the motorbike engine in the kitchen that had leaked oil all over the floor. She was made up with it though, and over a period of 4 years she's turned it into a beautiful place and increased the value by a fair whack. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. But Conrad, with all this hard work you propose there will be no time left for people to play with their moons on a stick.Go round the green binbags. Turn right at the mouldy George Elliot, forward, forward, and turn left....at the dead badger0
