As i can't get the 3.5% Santander account, i was looking at the 3.3% account as it still beats anything else available (i know about AA's 3.35%, but nothing is guarunteed with that)
Problem is the following when i click apply:You can apply if:
You are at least 16 years of age and a UK resident
Your opening balance will be at least £1
You haven't paid into a cash ISA in the current Tax year
* I have maxed my limit for THIS tax year
* I don't want to (obviously) deposit until 6th April, but this goes against the above.
How do i get round this?0 -

Not sure if it's the same as Halifax but when I opened my Halifax one, it says you have 60 days to put in your first deposit. If you don't do anything by then, the account is closed.0 -
Thanks.
I didn't see a note saying this one (the 3.3%) can be opened over the phone, otherwise i would do (open over the phone). It seems it's open online.0 -
i applied online and got rejected, but then phoned and was quickly opened an issue 3 account without hassle.0

Just wondering how long it took for you to get rejected, i applied on Thursday and havent heard anything yet, I have a feeling i will be rejected as applied online and ticked the 'i dont want to fund this year' option with the intention of funding after April 6th.Newbie alert...please be gentle

I did the same 2 weeks ago, but have heard nothing0 -
Thanks for that, seems the same story is cropping up time and time again, i think I may give it until close of play tomorrow and then give them a call and see whats going on, have a feeling they will do what they did last year and drop the rate.

Hi all,
Does anyone know how you can pay into this ISA? Can I do a transfer via online banking with another bank, or do I have to pay in with cash / a cheque in branch?
And if I use a cheque, will the start date be the day the cheque clears, or the day I hand it over to Santander? I don't want to miss the deadline!
Thanks so much

Phoned up Santander this morning in the expectation of being able to transfer my current year's flexible ISA into a new 3.3% flexible ISA. (well, it does say on the website that existing holders cannot apply online and that existing ISAs can be transferred). However, you apparently cannot transfer existing funds into a new flexible ISA, only into their poor paying ones. The good news is they opened a new flexible ISA for next year over the phone.
How can any bank not want to transfer existing customers money in to a new ISA ? They will therefore lose my current years ISA money to the Halifax.0
