Thanks Munro! Well since my old HSBC ISA only has a penny in it can I just forget about it and open a new one for this year with Santander without any issues? I always thought you were only allowed one ISA?0

It means that you cant transfer a previous years ISA into the account. Transfers in from a current or savings account are allowed.0

how long did it take people to get the email/info confirming account had been opened?
i know in the confirmation it said 3 working days but i applied on the 6th and still waiting0 -
I am an existing customer with online banking and it appeared shortly after applying.
Just as well really as I had no email confirmation that the account was open and the cash card/pin arrived a few weeks after.0 -

Out of curiosity, what do these ISAs show up as on online banking? I had a Flexible ISA last year that I'm fairly sure was called "Flexible ISA" on the online banking (it's in the Halifax now
), but this year's Loyalty Flexible ISA is showing as "Cash ISA". It's not exactly confidence-inspiring, and the only way to find interest rates is through a link to a list, rather than directly for that specific account. 0 -
Its showing as "Flexible ISA (Issue 3)" for me. I have the 3.3% rather than the loyalty one so it looks correct based on the name here:

not a current santander customer so dont have online banking with them, but i just thought i used to have a current accuont with abbey years back but no longer have access details - would they use those old details or give new ones0

Just a quick note to say I opened the Loyalty Flexible ISA in branch today (paying 3.5%), despite not being a previous customer, as they are offering this rate to current staff and students of my university (Warwick) regardless of whether you are a current customer or not. It might be similar at other universities too.
In addition, I did not need to get a debit card, or open any other form of account with them, and did not have to pay in any money to start with (despite offering to do so!). The guy just gave me the sort code and account number and advised I transferred money in using my existing HSBC student account and making a payment to that account number.0 -
my wife opened her ISA for last yrs tax yr. Opened online on 31 march, but only managed to get the account details on the phone on 5th april.
Put through a fast payment at 11pm, but this payment shows on the statement online as going in on 6th april.
Is there anyway to argue that it should be used for the previous tax year?0 -
Spikyone, mine shows up as CashIsa as well, but I received an email confirming I had opened the flexible ISA. I shall keep the email incase!0
