I will try and clear it up for you, the company was going for many years in the early days it ran well and indeed did get many people debt free and saved 10s of thousands of pounds for people it was noy untill the last few years when things started to go wrong.
what i dislike is that it seems people think the company was just set up has a total scam it was not, it also infers that JB fiddled people and thats all he did again not true, but i could see why people may think this, SW was the companies solicitor before he was "disgraced" this i think is were people are getting it slightly wrong it seems people only think SW was involved in the latter years he had some sort of conection for a long time.
but your right i would never have been assosiated with him a reall horrible man greedy, selfish, rude, un-proffesional, dishonest to name but a few
How many years?
I was a client since 2001 and in the first 2-3 years payments were made and some accounts settled and that was why I stayed believing all these 'hitches' were temporary.
At first I only ever spoke to JB because he was the only person there and he was ALWAYS available. I think and he was working from home?
Once the company moved for the second time the staff turn over was quite fast but over recent months has been stable.
The company moved several times over the years as they grew and this was offered as a reason for the 'confusion'clients experienced.0 -
Googling around I found this.

I can't see a date on it but before John's death. I wonder how many more franchisees there were and wether they have lost anything in the debacle? If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -
A bit more googling, total cost of franchise £20.000. A nice little earner.

forkque,
Have you not read my post above.
What i am saying is crystal clear.
JB might have started off with the best of intentions but somewhere along the way a lot of money came into the business and he started getting greedy.
If you have a person whom has been bankrupt for three years as it was then and all of a sudden there is all this money coming what he did is he took money and started buying things for himself. I dont give a monkeys what he was doing provided he was spending his money (the 10% on the payment hw was making) but he wasnt only spending this money he was also spending the money that was supposed to be destined for our creditors. The chronology as when this occured we do not know but seeing as i joind in 2004 and none of my creditors have clearly been paid correctly since the very start then you can only assume it was happening since 2004.
JB didnt learn the lessons of bankruptcy very well did he. He was supposed to be living within his means not borrowing money from tomorrow to use today and when he "borrowed" too much he had to use some more to speculate hoping to get the return he wanted so he could put right the wrong he did. Then he brought in SRW what he probably did in the beginning was to try as JB did but then he realised there was an opportunity to do what he had been charged with and found guilty of misappropriating clients funds. JB died and he didnt have the same relationship with the JB family. Knowing the JB family would not sell him the company for what "he" thought he wanted to pay for it he decided to run it into the ground and whilst doing this started giving himself vast sums of money to himself Eventually the JB family found out about this and ousted him then put a what we now know is a failed sandwich shop owner in control of this company. We dont know much about this guy only he hasnt got a lot of successful business experienced.
It is one failure after another. It started with JB and his greed then moved onto bring a crook into the business this then moved onto putting a person in charge of a business that simply did not have the tools to undertake what was requested and required of him
Nobody that should be held accountable for these failures are being held accountable all thats happening is a load of people are being asked to pay for these failures either going bankrupt, having debt relief orders or starting again with another company when the CLEAR fact is that they should have paid off a DMP what didnt even meet the guidelines of the OFT as what is supposed to be debt management plan.
None of these people are defencable in any way shape or form.STILL IN PURSUIT OF THOSE RESPONSIBLE, NEVER GIVING UP. SEMPI FI.0 -
Mike One interesting thing, all this about John Baird being bankrupt in the past. I can't find his bankruptcy on the London Gazette website. I can find Sentley Wilson's, he was made bankrupt by a creditor, didn't do the honest thing and do it himself, but John Baird I can't find.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0

Why does that not suprise us that SRW still could do the right thing.
our friends at the The Daily Mirror dug rakes of stuff on these people.

Fermi That will be him, although living in a different part of the country. Two clues, the use of Barry as a christian name ( without going into details) and the franchise link.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0

Dates also tally pretty well with when the 'Priority Golf' whatever it was went belly up.

When I first spoke to JB in 2001 he actually told me that he had in the past been bankrupt not once but TWICE and said it made him more determined to help others as he knew how we felt.0
