Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 8th March. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

Not sure what we shall have for dinner tonight.

            Morning all!
Very early start for me, no idea why I woke up, but have had tea and toast and now going to have a quick surf before the kids wake up!
OS stuff will involve a lick and a spit today, as I'm off to meet a friend for a catch up and a spot of bargain hunting.
Dinner will be pork and choritzo stew, just needs throwing into the SC so it's ready for when the kids get home later.
Have a good day all xxxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000

Good morning Halight and all to follow,
Hope both girls are well and healthy now, but when littlies are at nursery it is hard to prevent them catching things. However, hopefully it will be helping to build up their immune system.
Clear ang getting brighter here, but very cold (-5) and frosty. Think I might get another load dry on the line today. Got 2 loads dried out there yesterday
Had unused mushrooms in the fridge yesterday (from the weekend) so had to make a bean & mushrooom curry to go with the meal yesterday. Felt good not to waste them!!
Going off menu plan today 'coz DH has a yen for meatballs. I find these very fiddley to make, especially making enough to feed 11. So, I'll go shopping early to get the mince and get going straight away. I've got breadcrumbs in the freezer from the ends of hm loaves. Then they can chill until I need them this afternoon. I shall also make the tomato sauce this morning so that will make the final cooking less. If I try to do it all in one effort this afternoon, I won't feel like eating it when we all sit down! Also need to get all the machines on - WM, DW & BM.
Hugs to all who want or need,
Happy Tuesday, Silver xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

            Morning all
Off to work soon, hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, breakfast has been eaten & fish fed.
Hubby & I are going to a wedding reception this weekend, that will be a nice treat, the bride & groom are a bit stressed as we're the only people who have written to say we are attending. Mind you someone who I've invited to mine asked 'Do you need to know whether or not we are coming?' I told her yes, if she wanted something to eat! I also said that as I'd put RSVP on the invite that meant I'd like to know one way or the other. She didn't know what RSVP meant & she's in her mid 40's!
 Have a good day everyone.
 Hugs Hester

            Morning all, how is everyone?
Been MIA for the last few days as I'm trying to regain my house. Its not so much flying as putting things away when the children have been about! Plus I had an appointment with a clinical psychologist about DS1 and she confirmed that it is likely that he is on the autistic spectrum. For some reason, although I expected this and was hoping for it, I then seemed to shut down for 4 days trying to cope with it. He was behaving like a maniac all weekend which made it difficult. However last night I went to bed determined that today would be a new start and I'll get my willpower back - foodwise!
Tonight we'll have the pie that I got yesterday in Mr T at reduced price, mashed pots, and veg from the fridge. I WILL clear and clean up the house today, and I WILL get to the gym and walk the dogs. Hopefully I will then be in a better frame of mind to deal with the fall out when DS1 and 2 get home from school!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0

Morning All - Welcome Newbies :hello:
Don't all faint at me posting this early, not sure what my body clock is doing, woke up at 6.30am, suppose that is really 7.30 CET but have not been seeing the light of day before 9 am
DH still asleep, and as he is such a light sleeper a coffee and the PC are all I can do without waking him
The desktop is running very slowly, and seems that there is something running in the background all the time, so will be nipping over to the Techi Board, once I have done all I can do.
Today we must get a wiggle on, need to shop for fresh stuff, really need to check the freezer out first before buying meat, hopefully Sunny and 9+ forecast later today so will get into the garage freezer then. Yesterday's washing to air off and put away. Did get all the clothes back in wardrobe yesterday, so just need to sort out and get the bags back in the loft, and do a general dust/tidy, some ironing already, I need a magic wand for that
I got some Lamb Shanks out of the Freezer but we didn't use them so they will be tea today. DS got some Chiorizo (sp) and has left what is left, and as we cannot eat it (for too spicy for us) I will pop it in the freezer for his next visit. I had already put it in a sealed bag as it was smelling the fridge out, not a smell we like:o
Have a French Stick (from France) which is too dry so looks like a B&B Pudding in the SC is on the cards for tonight too. Found I had left 3 eggs in the fridge in Jan, so they will have to be carefully disposed of.
 Enough Waffle from me.
Hope Noah is more settled today NPM
Here's a dodgy hug for anyone who is in need of one :grouphug:
NicLou How did you get on at the Solicitors
RR Please you had a nice birthday

Bitterly cold here this morning, frost and mist but looks like will turn into another beautiful day :j
Same old for me today, office work first thing, ironing then off to drop off my car to have new brake pads fitted. Will be sausages for dinner followed by pancakes of course.
Nothing else to report, hope you all have a good day.x0
