  • Who's your broadband supplier? If its NTL or Telewest you'll need a wireless router without modem, if its ADSL then you need one with a modem. There were lots around a few weeks back.

The Netgear DG834G or GT would do. Just make sure you get a combined modem/router...your current USB modem will no longer be used.
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

  • Just bought one of these from Staples in Hanley, Stoke on Trent. 7200rpm. 8Meg cache. A few left in the clearance section. Great value. Good luck.

Could he not buy a router only and plug his USB modem into it so he could still get some use out of his modem and save himself a big of cash as routers are cheaper than modem+routers?? That is what I am trying to set up at the moment using a Belkin Access point/Wireless extender plugged into my cable modem... another staples bargain!

Most routers will not take a USB modem. I only know of a couple which do and they are expensive.

Are these items still in their shelf locations or are they on the clearance table in store?

Most I saw were in their regular slots.

Mostly on shelves with a big red and yellow "CLEARANCE" sign.
