Football is causing damage and a road safety problem

I guess the simple answer would seem to be to make sure it costs them more to not have a fence than it does to have one. Make sure every neighbour complains about the tiniest mark on their car attributable to a football, and tries to claim repair costs from the football club. Difficult as most people would just let it lie, but your video evidence could help. At some point they will be fed up of the phone calls and letters and put something up.0

If you claim off their insurance enough times maybe the insurance company would force them to act?0

not sure if this has been said sorry if it has,
if the park is club owned maintained by the club etc ( our RFC has two grounds one for training and one for match games and is club owned) then the council can only advise them of what safety measures should be inplace by assesing the "risk" to the areas surrounding the grounds. oneday you will catch an accident caused by a stray ball even better if its a match game as the two partys could potentially seek repairs from the club (assuming club owned grounds) hurting them right in the pocket and the partys would have a evidence from you and the council stating what should be enforced to prevent such "events" occuring. every dent your car recieves caught on cam by a ball in a match game go to the clubs chairman and ask for repairs to carried out if he tells you to do one issue a small claims court action against them, same for every window that goes through, and if your neighbours do the same, they will soon do something. the foot ball park near us has a main road next to it and houses the club has errected a stupidly high catch net to prevent any stray balls leaving the park in that direction.
funny how a stray ball caught a cop car, wounder if the officer had a chat with the club?? mind ponders on that one.
you could take the diplomatic approach and take your footage to the club and show them what is happening from your view, if money is a constraint to have the fences errected, perhaps you could volunteer with the club to do some fund raising gettting the neighbours involved also and local youth, that way you both win, if thats out of the question, then youll just have to keep hitting them in the pocket with court, as same with your neighbours im affraid.0 -
Thank you for that information and you are correct the club is private (not council). This makes sense on why the Environmental Department are unconcerned in enforcing the club to construct a higher fence.atrixblue.-MFR-. wrote: »if the park is club owned maintained by the club etc ( our RFC has two grounds one for training and one for match games and is club owned) then the council can only advise them of what safety measures should be inplace by assesing the "risk" to the areas surrounding the grounds. .0 -
Shame the cop car wasn't hit, might have done something then, maybe?0

Who was there first - your house or the football club?
If it ws the football club, then surely you would have realised that balls might come over the fence when you first purchased your house.
If it was you, then surely the football club had to have some form of planning permission so didn't you object then?0 -

Exactly this.Pants0 -
Why not start sending them a bills for the damage to your car.
If they caused the damage they are liable to pay for it and the drain on finances should eventually get their attention.0 -
Agree, even if there was just a football pitch and no club at the time.Who was there first - your house or the football club?

Hide behind the wall with a huge stereo .... and next time the ball comes over the wall play a very loud CD of very loud braking, followed by smashing and screams.0
