Book has been reduced further on Amazon (I just bought it despite vowing not to buy any more cook books).

In an earlier series we had a thread for this series:

I really loved the previous series and am really enjoying the current one - Clarissa Dickson-Wright's enthusiasm for British garlic yesterday was inspiring (although I could have done without hearing about her 'passionate' nights with a garlic lover _pale_! ). The last series meant I have never bought cheese other than British cheese since!
But is it money saving? I find that finding local produce or farmers market produce is very expensive and I think a lot of people on here buy imported supermarket food due to price and budget. What do other people think?0 -
I think you might be surprised that many on here are great advocates of buy less, buy british and buy quality where possible. Farmers markets are more expensive but I find, where we are anyway, the quality is better so stuff lasts longer and there is not as much waste. I Use a local farm shop which sells local produce.
I also think the tide is turning, where people can, to move away from supermarket buying over to smaller businesses.
Quite like Clarissa at times but she can be a little irritating too!Every days a School day!0 -
Hello,
Does anyone know where the recipes are for the second series, I would love to try some of the rhubarb and pear recipes.
Thanks0 -

I'm going to try the garlic and fudge tart! This incidentally is a great recipe website for all the BBC programme recipes and also just general recipe searching.0 -

It might not be money saving (though my experience is that buying local is). MSE isn't meant to be all about saving money, though - it's more about doing what you want to do for the best price :T
For instance, buying organic isn;t the cheapest way to buy food, but this site can help you buy organic for the best price possible :money:
As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the exisitng thread on GBFR:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0
