Well, I can report that my cauliflower cheese with bacon and mushrooms was very succesfull!
So succesfull that I am having lef over for lunch today.
Small head of cauliflower once you add the bacon and mushrooms and have salad to go with it is too much for 2 people. The bacon makes it much more substantial meal, it is no longer side dish.
Lovely. Oh says I can make that again:-)0 -
I love cauliflower, didnt realise it had gone "out of fashion",i got a medium sized one in my vege box yesterday, simply steamed it and served it as a side of Veg with dinner...wish id kept it now,cos i want to make the potato/cauliflower veg curry type dish that i saw on the show on iplayer last night.
overall i enjoyed the programme...sourdough bread sells for £3.50 at our monthly farmers market, but i think they are around 1/3rd smaller than the ones on the show.Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.

There's far too much water in the recipe, so I'll add it more cautiously next time0 -

water? there isnt any in the recipe
however, im a bit annoyed that the recipe on the BBC website isnt the same one as he made on the show, or should i say it isnt as detailed - so i had to watch the programme again on iplayer, to see exactly what he did
the recipe online says to mix the yeast in with the milk and leave til frothy (not sure how long that should be, or how frothy), then add all other ingredients. on the programme he melted the butter and syrup in with the milk, and then added to the yeast, then added it straight to the flour without leaving it to froth up - ive no idea whether one way or the other would make a difference to the loaf
i agree, it would have been nice to focus on the food, so you can see what it should look like at each stage, rather than keep cutting back to the presenter

I'm not surprised cauli isn't sold so much now, have you seen the price of it in the supermarket! I bought a huuge one from the farm shop for £1.50 but I needed to pop into Tesco for some cat litter and had a look at their caulis, £1.50 for a tiny little thing that would barely feed one person!
i tend to buy frozen cauli - Mr T sell a kilo bag for 85p

In my local street market I can always get two caulis for a pound0
