What about making up a silly treasure hunt for him with clues leading to the next clue, maybe with some sweets etc along the way. And you could finish the whole thing with a booklet of vouchers for him to redeem later, hidden under the pillow or something, entitling him to a massage or something at a later date. Or make a pass the parcel that gives him challenges/riddles before he can open the next layer? Or maybe something sweet like getting a jigsaw made up of the kids? Hmm.. will keep working on it...
Oooh I like the idea of the jigsaw of the children thats a good one! ... I have just managed to get him a terry pratchett book off amazon for £1.99 (brand new!) but thats cause I had a £5 voucher for a survey I did a while ago. I will get him some nuts/toffee or similar aswell ... I like the idea of the vouchers .. something saucy could be funhowever I am no good with coming up with things like that so any suggestions would be gratefully recieved

I'd just like to thank all you gals who post on this thread. I've never done hampers before, but this Christmas Im trying to watch the pennies a bit more so you have been an inspiration to me!I've saved afortune just by keeping my eyes peeledwhen out shopping. My spare room is full of "bits" just ready to be put in to baskets. Havent done "themes" , just baskets of goodies to suit the person. Do you think that sounds ok?

Jinty that sounds fabulous! I rarely have a theme with any of my baskets I tend to just throw them together but they always look goodRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0

Thanks Rusty, your baskets always sound great! I think someone was looking for Festive tins, I got some in Morrisons last week, three for £2.99. Im going to put homemade shortbread and cookies in for my neighbours and folks at work. (Will try not to poison them!)

jinty = no need for a theme particularly unlessd you happen to have enough of a particular colour or item. Mine are a bit of a jumble...............well they will be when I get around to packing them all...........lolMary

I got some cheap pumpkin, sesame and sunflower seeds today and have decided to print off this Terracotta Flowerpot Loaf recipe http://www.recipezaar.com/256869 & put the items plus flour, or maybe even bread mix from LIDL, into flowerpots (new of course
) wrapped in cello for the Church fair.
I have one small sack too so will use that for one and tie it with Christmas ribbon.0 -

I could walk into 2 different charity shops in my town and come out with bags full and they are only about 30p each!!! you could add a cup with some hot chocky sachets or snowman soup so she can have a nice warm drink whilst she reads, maybe some candles and bubble bath so she can read it all in the bath?Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0
