Hi, what's the 'perfect man' thing you're on about? Thanks.

Its basically a gingerbread man in a cello bag with a ribbon tied aroud the top with this poem attached:

    THE PERFECT MAN
They say good men are hard to find
I know this to be true
But I hunted far and wide
And found one just for you!

He is no good at DIY
    He cannot fix the car
But his socks are never smelly
And he doesn't stray too far

    He always listens patiently
And won't pester you in bed
If you get fed up with him
You just bite of his head!

I bought a pack of 12 gingerbread men yesterday from Wilkos for £1 and have wrapped them all up seperate for all my female friends and relatives for xmas = 8p each :T

I got this from someone on MSE but I cant remember who posted it (sorry whoever it was). x

I hope so, maybe I should have waited, the best before date was april 09 and they are now airtight, I'll have to test one or two nearer the time :) If they go off i'll buy some more the it will be 16p each! :)

Was thinking about it and I suppose there is no difference from taking biscuits out of the wrapper and putting in the biscuit tin so to speak of??? As long as its airtight it must be ok! xxx

But hey if you need to try one so be it, thats the best part!!:D

yours do sound nice with the linings etc, though if I make a hamper this year I hope to add my own lining in some way.
They were in the 99p store!

The thing about making a hamper is that I don't want the person I make one for to be left with a useless basket afterwards that they haven't got room for/don't need.
I see the basket or box as part of the present and try to pick a colour, shape, lining etc to suit each individual person... I tend to make sure that I would be happy to have it back too ( you never know ;) )

A lot of the cheaper baskets that I've looked at tend to be quite weak around the handle area which puts me off... I've not seen any baskets for 99p around me tho...

[It's a local one in Southampton called Scratch. Not sure where you are but might be worth googling to see if there is anything similar in your area. Scratch give gift to underprivileged kids in the area from birth-16 years old. I've got some toys and am also making up a few male and female teen toiletries/ cosmetics type gifts.]

got-it-spend-it- thanks for that - I'll have a look and see what I can find :o

Wow super hampers/cups etc everyone! 2 pages extra since I came on yesterday! you have been busy!!

I went to boots yesterday our local one is tiny and they had no soap and glory miniatures and no offers on apparently its only the bigger stores ... damn shame that I now have to venture out to a retail park with lots of fabulous shops on it ;)

Rusty - I too went to my local Boots yesterday and it's quite a large one and they'd had the offer on but had run out of the gift packs. I was quite annoyed that they hadn't properly thought about how many packs they would need as it would definately be a popular offer. The woman there blamed it on people buying in bulk but that wouldn't make a difference if they had ordered the right amount in!!! Might be best to phone the Boots store before making a special journey as they told me yesterday that many Boots have sold out. Offer on until Tuesday.
