You shouldn't be afraid of the Boots thread with all its jargon :D but I know how you feel lol. When I first read it I thought they were all a bit loopy :rotfl: and didn't understnd a word lol. I'm still the same with Tesco tho' :o

The miniature Soap and Glory set is a great example of how it can help though Rusty, as there's an offer on now whereby if you spend £15 in cash or points on the Soap and Glory range, (less in some areas) the miniature gift set's free. :) But you obviously need the points (or money) to get it ;)

The points add up quite quickly btw, and you don't need to spend a fortune to get them - just the essentials in most cases, and in other cases, they pay out more in points than you've actually spent, so they pay you sometimes to take stuff away lol.

Just reading that back looks confusing, but on that thread there's no such thing as a stupid question and I'd say 99.9% of questions always get a reply.

You should try it :D (oops, long post - sorry :o ) x

    Totally agree :D

Since I found the thread [STRIKE]my housework doesn't happen[/STRIKE] I've found so many bargains there, before I would never have thought Boots to be that cheap and its amazing how quickly the points add up :)

You get used to the abbreviations quickly ;) and when I've asked a question there I've generally had helpful answers (and not of the "this was asked before here" type!)

These are my 2 attempts at hampers for my sisters. Not yet cello'd :o haven't tried that yet!
    hamper001.jpg
    hamper002.jpg

Both filled from Boots offers over this year. They've both also got a hand towel in the bottom and a flannel muffin :p manicure gloves & a hard skin remover thing hidden in addition to what you can see on top.

Hoping the pix come out ok, never posted a pic on here before LOL! :o

They both look fabulous! Well done! Roughly how much did each cost you?

Oooh so the mini sets are freebies when spent with £15 ... thats interesting as I only have £7 ish worth of points but don't mind spending the £15 cause I can put these away for another present if that makes sense and still get MIL's free ... they were going quite well on ebay which shows why there was a few on there but I disagree with the prices being charged! someone said they have a RRP of £15

I might nip on over later on ;)
    Thanks
Check this out on ebay Rusty 250313728750 and it was free after the £15 spend (or less as mentioned ;)) Makes me wish I was a seller instead of a buyer :rotfl:

I'd never pay £15 even if it is the RRP, (those miniatures are usually £2 each btw) but looks like other people might

Thanks for the pamper hamper pictures miss*whisper :) They'll look stunning with some cellophane, or just as they are :D It really is a helpful thread isn't it?

A year ago I was paying full price for everything in Boots, but I'd never go shopping in there now without checking that thread out first ;) This thread and that thread seem to go hand in hand to me, but it does, as you suggest, interfere with normal things - like cleaning :o :rotfl:

    Well done once again :D

Rusty, as an example of how cheap things can be, I bought one of these yesterday for £4.50

    http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10052&productId=51665&callingViewName=&langId=-1&catalogId=11051

because the box isn't as pristine as normal. But I break the boxes up anyway and divide all of the things into individual baskets. It's always a good idea to check out the battered boxes, because the contents are usually intact - as that was. Hth

Each was about £17 I guess - baskets were £2.99 in Wilko's but (and I didn't notice until home) the SA only scanned one of them, so only paid £2.99 for 2 :o )

Used 3 4 2 offers etc in Boots, plus the £5 off no 7 vouchers - the ickle bottles in the bottom one I won in a raffle.

Plus its all stuff they use and I know they like :)
  • Thank you!

I'm now thinking of what to put in a hamper for my niece (8) but am having so many ideas that I can't decide!

Either : a cooking theme with a fairycake mix, a dvd/popcorn etc & snuggle fleece, a art/craft set etc, can't decide which way to go!
  • great hampers miss*whisper
  • On the Boots note I had to buy leaving gift for someone at work and when you spend £50 in store today you get £10 worth of points abck. Obviously only good if you were going to spend that much anyway but good for me as I'll be getting the money back off people at work! Also they're still giving out the £5 off No 7 vouchers so I now have three of those which I'll probably use on nail varnishes to do a little teen gift for a local charity.

Hope that is useful to somebody. Also got some pretty coloured flannels in Tesco for 45p each for flannels cupcakes.

Miss*Whisper love the hampers- I would absolutely love to get one of those as a gift and they are so beautifully presented. Will have a look for those baskets in Wilkos as the work so well with a hand towel in the bottom then lots of bottles.

I was watching that one :(

However I went on boots and searched and saw some of the miniatures for £2 so I may take a trip upto a bigger boots and hope they stock the miniatures and see if I can get a couple rather than being ripped off on ebay lol

I promise to have a nosey on the boots thread but will probably be tomorrow now as I have work tonight and have to dress up so got to get that ready and the children sorted for my sister in law to have them this evening :)

fab baskets miss*whisper - boots is great isn't it!

rusty give the Boots thread a go! I have got SIL and BIL birthday presents sorted for May and all of it is cheap/reduced stuff from Boots. That's without having enough shampoo/conditioner and other toiletries to last me a year - and all at next to no cost!
