Would prefer the thin ones that come flat packed if that helps.
First of all, helloSecond; I'm 99% certain there will be templates on the net somewhere to make your own box to the size you require--that way you can colour-match the box to the chox! I've seen them making various boxes for decoupaged cards & little trinkets on Create & Craft on Sky & it's basically the shape you want the box to be plus the height of the sides. Score along the fold line to make the edges stand up & stick the corners with a bit of tape or put little tabs on & they can be glued. Make the lid a few millimetres bigger than the base HTH.
Third; bit cheeky this one, but would you be so kind as to post the recipes for your delicious sounding goodies? My middle offspring is mental for all things fudgie:pFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

You could put liquor chocs in it and what about a whisky measure cup. You could find some of those plastic ice cube shapes, (tasteful designs!!!) and put those in also so they get the chill but don't water the whisky down!! You might be able to purchase, on ebay, bar towels and drinks coasters in whisky designs also or your local pub may have some new ones they could donate!!

How busy have you all been? I only went away for the weekend and have had to spend ages catching up on what everyone has been doing! Everything looks fab! :T
Anglekissingdevil - I did a quick search on Ebay for "flat gift boxes" and got a few results. One that seems to fit the bill is item no. 170230337917. 10 x flat boxes that you fold yourself - no glue! for £4.00 plus £1.75 postage - they have bigger multiples available. HTH0 -
Hi BigMummaF thank you so much for your help re boxes - I'd just found some on eBay but may have a look at making them myself first.... Great idea.
recipes are as follows:-
Fudge - Chocolate fruit and nut
397g can Carnation Condensed Milk
150ml (5fl oz) milk
450g (1lb) demerara sugar
115g (4oz) butter
175g (6oz) of melted plain chocolate
85g (3oz) of mixed dried fruit and chopped nuts
Grease and base line a square tin with baking parchment.
Gently heat milks, sugar and butter in a large, nonstick saucepan, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Bring to the boil and simmer gently for 10-15 minutes, stirring continuously, until a temperature of 116ºC (240ºF) is reached on a sugar thermometer. Alternatively, test the fudge by dropping a little into a jug of cold water. If a soft ball is formed, the fudge is ready. Add other ingredients.
Remove from the heat. Beat until thick and grainy (about 10 minutes). Pour into the prepared tin and leave to cool. When cold, cut into squares.
Fudge can be stored for up to 1 month in an airtight container
Peanut Brittle
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup golden syrup
1 cup peanuts
1/8 tsp salt
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 tsp baking soda Combine sugar, syrup, peanuts and salt in microwavable bowl. Microwave on high for 8 mins, stir after 4 mins. Add the butter and microwave on high for 2 mins. Brittle should not get too brown. Stir in vanilla and baking soda until light and foamy. Spread on a buttered baking sheet as thinly as possible. Cool then smash AND EAT.
Crystalised Ginger
2 cups of ginger - peeled and cut into 1/8 inch thick circles
3 cups of sugar
3 cups of water
In a large saucepan, add sugar and water, dissolve sugar - bring to the boil.
When sugar has dissolved add ginger and boil/simmer for 45 mins until ginger is tender.
When ready, drain out ginger - keeping syrup on the boil.
Dry the ginger for at least 30 mins.
Whilst ginger is drying - boil syrup until consistancy of golden syrup - remove from heat and place in a jar (this can be used instead of honey - with lemon and hot water - for sore throats) if yours stays like syrup can be drizzled over icecream etc or used in ginger cake making.
Once ginger has cooled and dried dust in sugar and put in jars.
Hope these have helped - I've posted my skinny truffles on another thread but I'll go and find the link and post it on here too.0 -

Hi
Lots of lovely templates here http://www.karlum.com/templates.htm for boxes.

I was in Sainsburys today and I reckon they've been nicking our ideas:rotfl: ! They had these mugs with a little packet of shortbread for £4 a pop....
And also Baileys mugs with a miniature, a stirrer and a little grater. These are dead cute but I'm sure could be recreated for less than the £6 price tag. I think a glass latte glass would look lovely with a miniature, maybe a chocolate spoon and a coffee sachet.
Apologies about the pic quality- I was taking them stealth-like whilst doing my grocery shopping!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
I want one of those lol0
