Hi everyone, More lovely hampers on over the weekend.
I know what you mean about withdrawal symptoms from making the hampers. I finished all my hampers for the nieces and nephews a few weeks ago and kept going in the spare room wishing I had some more to do so was over the moon when the baking hampers were shown. I have started doing a large one to share between 2 boys and a girl and a separate one for a boy (grandchildren). Also yesterday I started going through my card making bits as I have got loads of it and do not do so much these days due to my arm being disabled. I am making up a set for each of them with some odd cards and envelopes and lots of bits to make cards for everyone. I'm going to try to make up some "stamps" too out of plain white labels so they can put stamps on the envelopes.
I've started writing out some recipes for them to go with the baking hampers, was thinking of laminating them but now think I might get one of those book/folders with the plastic wallets in and make recipe books instead.
I have two sock monkeys made up which I want to knit clothes for, the boys are all soldier mad so going to get some khaki and see how they turn out. Still have another sock monkey to sew up. Have done one for the girl already and crocheted it a matinee jacket and bonnet. I put the monkey in a basket with some sweets instead of buying selection boxes.
Wish I could get myself a camera so I can post some piccys, may be my daughter will get one for christmas and I can borrow hers.0 -
I found this http://www.getabagsealer.com/heat-sealer-order.html while thinking about the snowman soup bags, & thought it might come in handy for sealing up some of the cello
At the very least, you could make your own gift bags from the wonderful decorated cello you have been using for the hampers.
I haven't yet invested, but think it will more than pay for itself by preventing me eating a full bag of sweeties in one sitting :rotfl:
Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Can I just say a massive THANK YOU to everyone on this thread for all your fabulous ideas and congratulations on all your gorgeous baskets! You've all got such lucky friends and families!!:T:T:T
Here's my first basket, inspired by all the lovely ideas on this thread, for my 13 year old neice, total cost including mini suitcase £8.38
And wrapped up
I'm really pleased with how it turned out but found the pull bow really difficult and ended up breaking it a bit... any tips? Thanks!

I've just made a batch of candied ginger and homemade skinny truffles for my hampers, going to make peppermint cream chocolaes, honeycomb, peanut brittle and other goodies later x
I'm also making aromatherapy items (I'm a qualified aromatherapist) also making bath melts, milk bath, bath salts and bath oils.
As soon as I've finished I'll let you all take a peek. Unfortunately I'm awaiting on someone to bring over some things from the UK in November (I live in France).0 -
Hi everyone!!

All that for £15 your a star.0 -
Does anyone know where I can purchase boxes for chocolates, something like a thorntons box (but cheaper)? I'd like to put my truffles in them rather than a cellophane bag.
Would prefer the thin ones that come flat packed if that helps.0 -
