Ruth_honey - have you seen the Shopaholic series of novels? They're hilarious - here is the first one - there's actually a film being made of it at the moment:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Secret-Dreamworld-Shopaholic-Sophie-Kinsella/dp/0552998877/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1222098714&sr=8-2

There are loads of them, if she hasn't read them then she'll love them!

How about some "party feet" insoles to put inside her shoes while she's shopping? A new purse?

Ooooooh lovely baskets Lillian well done!

Can't wait to see the film I have read all of her books so far and was just talking to OH last night abotu buying all of the shopaholic books again to re read!

Not looked at the trailer as yet.

Just to add I have been in poundstretcher today and they had disney princess egg cups reduced from £2 to £1 there is 2 in a pack so I grabbed a pack for 2 cookery hampers I am doing for some children. :) hope it helps someone.

Also they had Hannah Montanna cups for £1

Re Shopaholic movie - Actually I'm not excited any more, I didn't realise it had been "Americanised"!

Trailer is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0r2xdur5qxU - I think they've ruined it personally...

I think with films based on books you love, you have to forget all about the book and try and enjoy the film for what it is. I did enjoy the film of P.S. I Love you, but it was nowhere near as good as the book was. I sobbed when I was reading it, but they couldn't get the emotion in the film so much. But, as a film, I still enjoyed it. It's hard not to make comparisons, though.

Bunbun2-The Born to Shop range-I forgot all about that! I got a great website/password book from that range in Wilkensons. They do all kinds of things, don't they? Mugs, stationary, coasters...must get over to Wilko's and have a look. Thanks!
edit-Just found a great tax disc holder on Halfords website-it says 'Whoever says money can't buy happiness, doesn't know where to shop'! I LOVE it!

Good point. I'm sure I will enjoy it anyway - I just had such an idea about what Becky would be like! Ah well.

That tax disc holder sounds fab :) How about making a card to put in with website addresses of her favourite shops - in case she's ill and can't go out! :rotfl:

She isn't online...in fact, she doesn't even have a home phone... She has no idea how many shopping bargains she is missing out on...:rotfl: But she does have a HB very close to her, which is more than I do. Gives me an excuse to visit more often though!

Shopaholic books-I see LOADS of these in charity shops. Makes me wish I had the patience to hang on a few months instead of buying them in Tesco when they first come out!

i know what you mean Lilian when you read a book you have an idea of what the characters look like and they turn out completely different in the film. Will have to watch the film and separate it from the books.
Ruth_honey next on my list of books to read is PS I Love you.

bunbun2 - PS I Love You is great, as are all of Cecilia Ahern's books. I think my favourite is A Place Called Here.

  • I watched PS I love you and whilst I thought it was a good film I didn't enjoy it as much cause it was rubbish in comparison to the book if that makes sense. Bunvun I really reccomend reading that book I have read it 8 times and love it!!! Another good one is where rainbows end by Celia Ahern.
