Hope no-one minds me requoting this with the pictures, but everytime I pop in, this one catches my eye (probably because I've still got some cups and saucers that I bought in Boots 75% sale lol) but it's so pretty and looks so easy to make rainmac
(Not that I'm saying it was easy to make btw, as I know all of the effort that's put into these things)
Nope don't mind at all, took next to no time to put together to be honest, didn't have to arrange things to look pretty in a basket :rotfl:
 If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Hello again
RustyFlange, those tins are just lovely - I'd like one just for myself lol, but a good idea as they suit cat lovers and dog lovers alike, and girls for their lunch boxes, obviouslyso a multi-purpose purchase
TLP, those are also lovely tins and if I ever get away from the pc, I'll be hotfooting it to B&M. There was an offer on where if you spent umpteen pounds on Boots Expert items lol, you received a free tin of Expert products. The trouble is the tins had a wraparound cardboard thing that detailed the items (I think?), it looked ugly, and it also looked like I'd never be able to use it in case peeps knew it was free, and therefore I was a tightwad lol. The items would look so much better in something like that - thanks
BigMummaF, I've been lol again at some of your earlier postsbut if I manage to get another rack, that's the idea I was looking for, so thank you. I didn't earmark the rack for anything in particular btw, and the links to it are only an idea of the size really (plus I wanted to pick all of your brains
) But the orange Sanctuary did contrast well with the brown material (they're like a suedette btw) as rainmac mentioned
I'd do what you suggested BMF, but I'm not very handicrafty lol, but your suggestion for the movie theme is perfect as it not only bulks things out, i.e. the popcorn and fleece, it also reminded me that there's a young girl I know who'd love a movie-themed present
(I'm still sticking with the Sanctuary idea rainmac for the reasons mentioned aboveBtw, I only picked the rack because folded flat, it takes up less storage room than baskets.) I'm sure we all go shopping now and look at the containers rather than contents lol.
kl87 - hiI've bought at least a dozen of those and they're really pretty, but having seen what people can do with cupcakes and flannels (and even socks - great idea rainmac!) I wished I'd saved the £2.49 that I'm ashamed to say I paid for each!
(I can't find the link but I'm sure someone will redirect you to the thread regarding cupcakes
)
Hi mrsbbI think I mentioned on the Boots threads for people to look out for battered/shabby No7 boxed items etc as the battering they sometimes take don't usually affect the contents. I've bought items like those for as little as a pound when they're originally £10 for example, so well worth a look imo
Sorry for the long post, and excessive smiliesbut a multiquote from me would have been even worse :rotfl:
Thanks again everyone :A x I'll try and post up the finished result of the magazine rack. It's not going to get the better of melol.

It's me again - sorry
I'd mentioned to mrs bb (I think?) that you could save on cellophane sometimes by not always gathering the cellophane into a fan-type effect, with a bow at the top of the hamper, but by sellotaping the cellophane underneath iyswim? (I think I'm turning into a moneysaver)
Anyway, I tried it myself but because of the texture of the box, and the user-friendly sellotape I used, it fell apart LOL. I'd balanced the hamper on my head whilst oh sellotaped the cello directly to the underside of the box, but it was just all wrong lol. The only way it worked was by using extra cellophane (so not so moneysaving lol) as the sellotape gripped the cello. But this is basically what I meant:

I'll show the unwrapped version as the teddy in the corner was mentioned very early in this thread. I'd bought a few after Mother's Day for a pound, and bought others really cheap after Valentine's day. They had hearts attached to them saying things like "Happy Mother's Day" (unsurprisingly lol) and "To the one I love" etc, so I stocked up for next year. Then I realised that the hearts that were attached are only attached by a couple of stitches of thread, and are easily unpicked, so they're no longer 'special occasion only bears'. There's usually a lot of these to be found just after Christmas, new in charity shops, and in Poundland etc, so it might be worth bearing in mind if you use teddies in hampers

Hi - haven't posted for a while but have been avidly reading and collecting items up!
Anyway, here are a few pretty much completed baskets - I haven't wrapped them yet.
For a friend's birthday this weekend (the cake is soap, flannel cupcake, then teatowel from Primark, spotty cup and pink herbal tea, and 2 cupcake coasters):
For a friend who has recently lost her husband, her birthday is just after their 1 year wedding anniversary would have been (there's a lavender warmer at the back, and a neck massager thing as well):
An "80s sweets" jar for a friend with a sweet tooth:
A couple of random baskets from Bootsing:
And this is one I'm making four of for Christmas presents - note the sock monkey! I'm going to attach a small luggage tag to their necks and print on the name of the person the basket is for (I need to add some hot choc sachets):
